Default Supercar producer

Hi Everybody

I am looking for a list (or maybe want to make one on my own) of current supercar producers, that are at least produced in small series (> 5 pieces) and are currently or in near future possible to buy. I know the followings:

- Saleen S7 (http://www.saleen.com)

- Spyker C8 (Spyder, Laviolette, Double 12) (http://www.spykercars.nl)

- Koenigsegg CC (http://www.koenigsegg.com)

- Mosler MT 900S (http://www.moslerauto.com)

- Bugatti Veyron

- Lamborghini (Murcielago + Gallardo)

- Pagani Zonda C12 (http://www.paganizonda.com)

- Porsche Carrera GT

- Ferrari Enzo

Further:

- Dauer 962 Le Mans Porsche (but I don't know if they are still produced)

- Edonis (don't know if it is only a prototype)

Do you know others?

Regards

Jefro

Well, the Aston-Martin Vanquish is surely a supercar. I think people would agree that the Noble M12 is also a supercar, even if it doesn't have the supercar price.

The Nobel looks great! 3.9 to 60: impressive! Very similar to the Lotus Elise, do they share components?

The Aston Martin I would rather consider as a GT, don't you?

Just because its a GT doesn't mean that it can't also be a supercar. I think that it is, it's debatable, but a car that does 0-60 in 4.4 and has a top speed of 190 (specs which rival the aforementioned Gallardo) is a fair contender for supercar status. And if it's a GT too, all the better.

You know a 911 GT2 will run even with half the cars on that list right?

Well dependin on if they think 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and 1/4 mile in 12@121mph is super car status.
Personally i'd definitely count that as supercar status.
Along with the GT3-R.

And since we're focusin on 0-60 and 1/4 mile times the Blitz skyline and nissan r390 gt-1 would also be considered for supercar status.
The blitz skyline does 0-60 in 3 flat and 1/4 mile sumwhere in the extremely low 9 or high 8 second mark.
The r390 gt-1 does 0-60 in 3.9sec and 1/4 mile in 11.9 second mark.
Even though the r390 gt-1 has the only "supercar" look.
They r both well into the supercar category.
There's jus so many ranges and different companies of fixed up cars that could easily be supercar status.
Basically the upmost top supercars would be the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, Mercedes-Benz CSL GTR,
the Blitz skyline and the saleen s7r.

Personally i wouldn't count the Spyker C8 to be in supercar status.
Only way i could see how it could be accounted for in that group is by its looks.

For me personally a super car is uncompromisingly dedicated to sportive driving, which you can surely do with a GT like the Aston Martin too, but there is also the aspect of luxury.

Composing the list I was thinking of a multi-millinaire, who wants to buy a new super car. Lets assume that he already has a koenigsegg in his garage, an wants to have a rival product, what would he buy?

So I thought to have a list with cars that approche the same concept like the Koenigsegg (mid-engine, "le mans" kind of design, >400bhp, highly exclusive). So what do you think should be included in the list?

You are absolutely right, I'm thinking of putting the GT2 into it. But still it doesn't fit in the concept (see above).....

But can you (still) buy these cars and drive with them on the street? The r390 gt-1 would definitely fit into the list.

All three variations of the CLK GTR by MB would be on my supercar list, and probably should be on yours too. I would put the Aston, but hey, its your list. The Porsche 959 is deffinately a consideration as well.

i'll agree to the CLK-GTR and SS, as well as the Spyker C8 Double 12S, the GT2 does meet supercar specs if you ask me, there is more than straight line accleration, and the GT has just as much straight line as a carrera GT, and that is a supercar right?

I think all of those chop shop tuned not for the street cranked up skylines' that R34 was talking about just odn't meet the specs for supercar. They are somethig, it just isn't supercar.

And aston martin vanq should definately be on there.
