Try gomotorbids.com, they're not bad. They only have one McLaren F1 though.

www.modelcarzone.com has a Maisto 1:18 scale F1 for $39.95 - 50 other places, but for what it looks like, I think it should be closer to 25-30.

Haven't heard of any that are good that you can put together yourself. I think your best bet is just to find a good quality die-cast model like some of the one's on Ebay.
