License tests in the new game are easy. I beat through iA easily. The driving challenges get really hard, though. All in all, it's easier than the old one. Do the 1st tarmac rally in special condition races and you'll get a Cadillac Cien Concept which is crazy fast. Then do the 2nd tarmac rally and you will win a Toyota RSC Rally Raid car. You can then sell that for 265,000. Easy way to get cars you need or upgrades.

So that's their game, make you have to shell out 150 for the wheel to complete the tests, or maybe not if West's experience is anything to go by. I was never into the concept cars that you win, because it's all speculation. Like in GT3 when I won a 350Z concept, I sold that thing off right quick.

I'll get GT4 myself sometime, but not before they work out any glitches - just like an early production car. Someone said there is some frame slow down in the game. Has anybody else seen this? Also, is BMW representation as pathetic as ussual?

Geschrieben

yea there is a frame slow down, usually before the race starts though. its almost as if the map isnt done loading. and yes the bmw comes out short. they have a bunch of their cars, however when i drove the m3 csl it was definitely tubby, maybe because i cant easy the throttle or wheel though... we shall see

i finished all the license tests without a problem at all. i just want to get all gold to get more free cars :-))!

I've read some reviews on it, I get the impression that it's like a new and expanded GT3. an evolution rather than the major leap everyone was expecting.

The American muscle cars in it need to get their dues as well - And really sound like muscle cars for a change. I think the real breakthrough will come in GT5. The PS3 will provide the capability. Much improved AI (hopefully), fantastic physics, online play - and fabulous graphics. I guess we'll see in about four or five years.

ill try to get some of my screen shots up within a month, the graphics are better than gt3 and so are the courses. the cars also have a better feel in this one, where as in gt3 they all seemed to understeer ever so slightly. gt4 really is bigger and better than gt3. i mean its got a decent european line up now and spray :D

Geschrieben

i'm just very happy that the muscle cars are back in the game. was a shame they left them out of gt3.

holy crap i just finished getting my s license.

you gotta love nurburgring as the final track on the license test. took me 7:32. man thats a tough course.

Geschrieben

I didn't realize Nurburgring was such a difficult track to drive on. Especially with a really high hp'd car. Kind of scary actually.

Hallo bleh,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für Verschiedenes über Autos (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

i can see them being a bit unstable under acceleration round some corners

Nurburgring isn't that difficult. I did it easily in a CLK-GTR with a big turbo and slicks. I think I topped out at 250 on the big straight. Nonetheless, an awesome track.

They don't say "tuned on the Nurburgring" for nothing.

Before I get GT4, I need to get another controller. Mine kind of broke, I toss them around a bit when games start to cheat. Driving a suddenly sluggish Ruf RGT and getting beaten around Tokyo Route 11 by a friggin' 350Z concept? That's crap.

Geschrieben

the gring is scarey, i couldnt imagine driving it in real life.

lnc, dont get another controller, get the wheel:) with a lot of the game, especially the beginning you just know it would be easier/more realistic with the wheel. it takes more advantage of your driving ability and less of your button tapping skill.

Geschrieben

i have heard that the wheel is very good for the game as it was specially made for it. plus i have a controller from my old ps2 (got a new one about a month back) and it was really worn out from all the games i play

That RUF handles like crap and I don't understand why. They handle nothing like that in RL. They screwed up on Porsche's real life handling characteristics. Even the Yellowbird oversteers like a mother.

they have done such a good job with other cars too and then they balls up on those? :-?

Because it's Japan. Nothing wrong with Japan alone, just that it's typical for human beiings to do this.

An English movie I saw yesterday, they humiliated the French.

In a typical American Hollywood movie you see an American flag waving in almost all sequences, to raise america is all that matters.

Japanese judges in K1 favoured their Japanese fighter in an insane way all the way to the final match.

Also in Italy, they could almost start a war against anyone complaining anything on them.

In Sweden Volvo is raised to skies, and a certain journalist will always complain on german cars and not anything on volvo.

This is how it works. The only independent living would be aliens from another planet.

The only thing I would have to disagree with on the game is when you go into a corner to fast with acceleration your MPH starts depleting like hell when your tires are screeching. Now even my pos cavalier doesn't even do it that bad so why do they have it like that?

you mean it understeers, which porches do in real life.(just cus the rear engine) the boxter isnt as bad though. but in real life you just break earlier and accelerate a little earlier too, likewise, do so in the game.

in the game and in real life though porches dont oversteer at unless you really force it

Turn off TCS and ASM.
yes, if your tires are spinning around a turn the computer will help you stop them from spinning.

sometimes it feels like the tcs just strangles the cars

I have to get another controller anyway to play my other games.

They messed up RUF/Porsche in GT4 eh? In GT3 anyway, the RUF RGT handles excellently, pretty nuetral actually. And very stable at the limit. The older 993 based RUF is another story. That handles like crap.

It's all true what Thunf points out. There is nationality bias, even in Gran Turismo. The Skyline's for instance are done to perfection, engine sounds and everything. But other non-Japanese cars, like a Chevelle get neglected and sound like a souped up minivan from what I here. :-?

Geschrieben

They messed up almost all the cars, actually. Go test the cars in the power and speed events, and see the 1/4 mile times. They're unrealistic. Evo MR FQ-320 only runs a 13, an SRT-4 only runs a 15.5. Not well done. It's just a game.

Geschrieben

To me they oversteer like a mother.

I know some cars are VERY off on their 1/4 mile but some are dead on.
