Hi,

Does anyone have any ideea how Alpina puts the names to their cars?

I tried to figure out something logical, but it does not realy add up.

Well, I think it's safe to say that the " B " stands for the man who founded the company, Burkard Bovensiepen. The number stands for engine displacement, but the final numerals are where it gets a little hazy.

For example, an Alpina B8 4.6 has an 8 cylinder engine of 4.6 liters, so B8 4.6 makes sense. B12 5.7 makes sense. But B10 is not a V10. So I think it just comes down to what sounds good. Or something like this.

Actually, I've read the history of the Alpina. I figured out the B myself, but hey, they had C models back in the begining...
