If you compare the BMW Z3 to the Honda s2000 you see that the bimmer has a quicker 0 to 60 by .01 seconds and the top speed is 8 m.p.h. (which honestly isn't alot) more than the s2000 although comparing the prices the Honda is $ 12,000 cheaper than the bimmer, also C/D rated the Honda the best out of BMW, Audi, Nissan and Porshe, and BMW was rated 3rd. So for 12 g saved i would much rather get the Honda. but i have to admit BMW does make nice cars but they are overpriced. Bottom line bimmers are overpriced alot, but lets not get into the MB and Audi overpricing.

First of all I don't get what you want. Are you asking a question, or do you want to discuss something?

You seem to be forgetting that S2000 has all it's torque on the high end. The Z3 has it's max torque already available at 3950 rpm while with the S2000 has it's max torque at 7500rpm. The Z3 has a 5 gear manual and the S2000 has a 6 gear manual. All these things combined make the S2000 seem like a powerfull car but in fact it is not.

First of all there is no power available at the low and mid range. So of the line there is no way it can compete with the Z3. It has a very long finaldrive so it needs a long time to reach it's max speed. The Z3 does the 1/4 mile in 19secs while the S2000 does it in 24 secs.

Because it has it's torque at the high end it has very short 1st, 2nd and 3th gears. But because you also want topspeed the 4th, 5th and 6th gears are very long.

The S2000 has very poor fuel economy when compared directly to it's competitors.

And finaly while Honda may claim the S2000 can do 150mph (240km/h) nobody, not even skilled testdrivers or reporters, has been able to reach this target speed.

Conclusion: In the S2000 while pulling off the line you find your self switching gears very rappidly which isn't a real comfortable thing todo and when ur finaly off the ground and want to build up speed you find youself waiting a long time for the car to build up speed. On top of that it has poor fuel economy, even though it has a smaller engine, so in the long run you end up losing enough money on fuel which makes up or the higher price of the Z3. And finally nobody has ever seen a stock S2000 do the advertised 150mph, except the Honda engineers.

I'm sure if BMW would've dropped a 6 gear manual in the Z3 it would easily go over the S2000.

No tnx, I'd take the Z3 any day.

And you my friend are whats wrong with America these days.

First off all just because something is cheaper doesn't necesarily mean its better.

Second of all I have shown you that the Z3 is better then the S2000. Maybe you should try to bring forward some arguments or discussion points instead of calling me an idiot. Cause you know it makes you look like an idiot.

Arty get the hell off this site, this punk

doesnt know sh*t. And if you are so

worried with prices, than why did

you get a m5?

Geschrieben

Kevin, I would watch who you tell to get off this site. You're no better than he is. You do the exact same things.

Geschrieben

Oh can you? Can't tell by reading your posts. "MB sucks, MB sucks, they suck, they suck, they suck, suck, suck" didn't sound to me like backing anything up, but thats my fault, that just must be me.

Geschrieben

Hey hey.. stop that. You guyz don't have to start a fight.

Anywayz when it comes down to it we (the mods) will decide what is or is not allowed and RolandK will decide who is and isn't allowed on the site. If somebody proves to be bad for the community we will remove that person.

we are here to have intelligent discussion and debate about cars, the point is to have fun. ya'll need to just take it easy.

we all like the same things, cool cars, driving fast, the sound of an engine screaming full bore, we just have different opinions on how to get there, but in the end we're all car enthusiasts.

so back to the topic--- were you guys talking about the z3 or the z4?

ans what is up with those quarter mile times?

Geschrieben

listen, a Z4 3.0 is about 10k more than an S2000, they both run even in terms of straight line acceleration, they both come about even in handling, the differences? While the Z4 runs the same in the 0-60 as it does the 5.-60, the S2000 is a whole seccond slower from 5mph, showing you have to drop that clutch from alarming heights to get torque to start, the S2000 isn't a flexible performer, and Z4 is all about flexibility. You have to be planning going fast in advance in S2000, whereas the Z4 you just go. The Z4 also has a more luxurious interior, and i believe a longer warrantee.

of course they are better looking. to me, the S2000 looks like a miata with a sports package.
