i thought i'd shoot up a thread to ask people what their various screen names mean. Some of ours are simple, like RolandK is roland's name, Roland K., as with Seb, he is sebastian, we can all guess at djfux69, but some aren't so clear.

here's how i got mine.

since i was a teenager, my buddies called me fox. partially cause i sorta have that type of face, partially because i was always scheming and deceptive. the polar part comes from me living in minnesota, it is about the coldest inhabitted major city i can think of. the qx is just something i added to the end becuase i wasn't always the first to think of thepolarfox, and thepolarfox2 just sounded goony.

I got my name " LateNightCable " because in the early 90s', I lived in Southern California, and starred in many low budget late night cable movies, Good pay, even better craft services.

Remember " Erotic Obsessions 3 "? I was BJ, the naked bartender .

And lets' not forget " The Singular Pleasure " and " California Knights Vol. 12 "

Actually, I do aspire to make movies at some point - acting, directing, producing. But the real reason I chose " LateNightCable " is because it's unique, and I have fond memories of watching those early 90's cable movies on Cinemax, Showtime, and HBO. Really good stuff. I love that genre!

so what sort of artist are you in indiana that gets you loaded?

Good question. I do the really big " artsy " kind of artwork that sells for large dough at galleries in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Living out in Indiana means I travel frequently. At some point, I will just move up out of here to LA or NY.

Actually Polar, those cable movies are quality entertainment. ( I'm saying this with a straight face ) Straight out porn is surprisingly boring to watch, but those cable flicks have real stories, and a mysterious L.A. cool quality about them. Stories of sex, deception, and murder, starring people you've never heard of? I love it !

Ever heard of the old " Silk Stalkings " on USA? Good show.

this is a pretty funny thread to go off topic. latenight, your a bit different than most people ive come across.

bleh is the sound of a dry heave before you puke. i really didnt know why i chose this name. when my friends used to see an ugly/fat chick, we would make the sound like we were going to throw up. the real jerks in our circle of friends would say quite audibly 'hey! shotgun the fat one!'. sorry to change the subject to reacting to ugly chicks.

Kleinefisch actually comes from my high school German teacher. He always used the phrase Grossefisch Kleinefisch (big fish, little fish) when it came to subject/verb agreement. My friends and I since then have used it as an inside joke now for years.

i had a german nickname for a while, or related like that.

my buddies called me shitty, in like 9th or 10th grade i had german, the teacher was some 70 year old woman from german, and we had to tell her about how well our german skills were.

i wanted to say my german was crumby, so i meant to say

meine deutsch ist schrecklich, but instead, what came out was meine deutsch ist shiesslich, or my german is shitty.

my buddies in class cracked up, the german teacher less than amused raised one eyebrow and just said "wirklich" in an irratated tone, and then in english said "i bet".

so they wouldn't let it go, but shitty died in highschool. i don't miss it that much.

High school nicknames now? I've got one, or rather three variations on the same one. In high school I had this one dark green outfit that I wore a lot, and I was one of the tallest people in school, so people called me " Jolly Green Giant " after the charictor on the canned vegetables. Sometimes " Jolly Green " and sometimes just " Jolly ".

" Hey, whats' up Jolly? "

I was actually more quiet than jolly, but it worked for them. People have a tendency to call me " Slim " too, but they are never people I know, just weirdos in the street. " Yeah, how ya doin' Fatso? "

most of my buddies call me fish (after my last name), they always have, except when they call me fox, so when it's time to go to my high school reunion, i wonder if anyone is going to call me shitty?

None of my work is on the net that I know of. ( if it is someone is getting sued ) I could take this much further to where it is there, I'm sure. You see my little picture of Veronica Lake down below? A lot of my work resembles that style. Glamourous and ghostly. I work in a realist style with a lot of black and white, light and shadow, and often a flash of vivid color for spice.

that work of yours sounds interesting. i write from time to time. pretty descriptive and surreal stuff, my last one was about jumping off a cliff (not really about that, but that was dressing).

Anyhow, you should put some of your art up, i'm sure lots of people'd like to see it.

old thread but i never got to put in my 2 cents. haha this username is actually really dumb. its my screen name from i dont know how long ago but it seemed to me like an easy thing to remember. my name on everyother forum is boobietoucher69..... that one is pretty explanitory. haha.

actually i never really had a nickname. my first name is ulisse. and everyone just calls me uli for short.... wait i can think of a nickname!! but girls call me that and its X rated..
