the spyker is an exceptionally classy, sporty, and beautiful machine.

the koenigsegg is a fastest car contender, and is a true engineering tour deforce, indeed, on paper, no car outperforms it cumulatively.

the Pagani is a passionate, lovable italian supercar with a mean and efficent german powerplant, a perfect combination

And of course S7 which is america's first real contender, which may not be the best out of the gate, but it does have a lot of things going for it.

yes i believe it is very interesting to see that new, less recognizable names are emerging into the realm of supercar. in a few years, these cars may be as known as laborghini is. it's too bad that lLmborhini is no longer an independant marque. it has left a lasting legacy and many precedents of what should be in a supercar. it is hard to say which of the newer marques will reign supreme in years to come. i think that Edonis has a deffinate shot at top dog as it's designed by Pinifarina, but who knows.

Yes i would agree that not much can beat a Koenigsegg by looks. i do beleive that the Edonis is one of the most forward looking cars in the past years.

Agreed. The Edonis looks Edgy and futuristic in a weird way. Meanwhile the Koenigsegg seems to have a clear design direction. I think you can pretty much add wings to the Edonis and call it a futuristic Fighter Jet. The headlights and the air intakes on the Edonis are beyond weird.... :roll:

i like edonis, but it needs to look less like something from a comic book. for now, the koenigsegg keeps its picture on my wall.

i believe that the edonis should lose the black wheels and get a nicer wing, then i believe that it would be a supreme car.

no, I really mounted a pulse jet on a go - kart. I built the pulse jet. It was a really odd sounding beast, and I had to start it with a gas leaf blower. It didn't accelerate well, but top speed is like nothing else.

i'm curious whether there is gonna be brand new mclaren supercar around 2010...another challenger for 2004 veyron and 2007 f60...

McLaren is now in parternership with mercedes benz, their next supercar will be the 5.4L S/C V8 powered, carbon fibre built, mercedes branded SLR. It will compete with Veryon and F60.

i knew that next mclar. supercars is slr....but it won't compete with veyron and f60 in case of power,top speed etc....i mean the next McLaren supercar(not mclaren mercedes)...we can be sure there will be one,coz McLaren cars company was founded one year ago....i suspect that we can expect a real supercar with power around 900hp in 2010...

mclaren is now in partnership with mercedes though, and contract states merecedes is soul provider of engines. Too bad they don't have BMW M-Power engines anymore. In terms of performance, an SLR should come darn close if not even with F60 and Veryon - remember SLR has the lowest curb weight of all by far.

well amg power is no shame tho'....slr's weight is around 1400 kg am i not right....it's estimated that veyron is gonna have 1500kg,and ferrari will do everything to keep f60's weight under 1200 kg!

you really should not make offensive comments to someone who obviously is very intelligent and capable. that was out of line.

The Veryon is going to be heavier than 2,800lbs - by far. A Murcielago is well over 3,600lbs, all projections I have seen put the veryon at 3,800lbs. Every reliable source sets that as the spec. I think it would be reasonable to assume an F60 would be even in weight with an Enzo. The makes the carbon fibre composite SLR the lightest. The MPower V12 in F1 is far superior to any current AMG motor. Lets be honest here, MPower makes more impressive engines (atleast for supercar application) than AMG. We have a forum deticated to M v. AMG, it is like 14-2 in favor of M.

I'm sorry but if you'd do a little logical thinking you'd come to the same conclusion.

The engine in the Veyron wil have 16 cylinders and 64 valves, it has a 7 speed gearbox, I refuse to belive that this engine has a weight under 800kg. The engine it self is huge and heavy to begin with, adding to that the you will need a very strong structure to carry the weight of this engine and the forces the engine produces, you will come to the conclusion that it needs a very big, very strong and very heavy chasis and components so it won't break overtime.

A weight around 3000kg is to be expected.

6,600lbs? I think they can get away under that. Sure as hell is going to happen at 2,800lbs.

I see it like this, they have a huge - 16 cylender engine - a heavy engine - in and of itself (including the turbocharger gear) approaching 900lbs. Furthermore, the car carries a very heavy and complex multi-overdrive sequential 7 speed. beyond that, it has to carry 3, count now 1 - 2 - 3 Zexel Torsen differentials, it has huge brakes, it is - by the way - a pretty large car. Even if it is aluminum and composite intensive, i don't see this happening for much under 4,000 - best case scenario. 6,600 - I hope not (that is more like bentley style weight)
