FWD BMW

Some moron in the press reported that BMW would start building lower cost front wheel drive cars.

If any of you have heard this, the boys in Munich threw their press monkey (well, actually his official title is design chief - but he gets used like a press monkey), to say that "BMW has never, does not now, nor wil ever build a front wheel drive car"

I must admit I was worried. Especially after the Mini Cooper (or to use the bavarian pronunciation "minah coopah") came out with a transversally mounted front wheel drive setup.

Just the same, glad to hear this for now- I still can't believe that Audi and Jaguar base their small sedans on front wheel drive platforms. The fact you can buy these cars in front wheel drive form sickens me. If I wanted an econohunk sedan with poor balance and torque steer, I have GM.
