new r35?

What do u guys think of the new r35 v-spec launched at the tokyo motor show?Have Nissan gone too far?Whats the the deal with the engine?Is it the old RB26DETT or have they gone for the V8 option to suit the american market?

Well dont think thats the car its going to be that car looked to much show. The new engine is a V6 i think and its allready going to be used in some Nissan GT cars.

when did this happen? i know they had an option of a v8 or the twin turbo straight six?

there r some figures qouting the car does 4.5 to 100, which i would say is pretty impressive.im only not sure which driveline thetre using....

For the united states, the engine will be the a highly tuned version of the 4.5L "VQ" V8 - the twin turbo strait six will not come here (technology imployed in that engine is different from just about every other engine nissan brings here - no parts are compadible with other US import nissan vehicles - since the V8 is going to become pretty standard in their lineup, it was the choice). The driveline will be very similar to the AWD setup employed in Skyline GTR - although some chasis and driveline components will be shared with the next generation maxima (slated to ride on an AWD platform)
