Would YOU buy it when you could have a Lamborghini Murcielago, a Bugatti Veyron, a Porsche Carerra GT or best of all a Ferrari F60......

It is pointless - only the mad will buy it....

It looks realy good. Saw movie when they test it at nardo track. Some new record. Run 24h i think. With speeds around 300 all the time. Thats nice.

Harhar, it's just something to please the retiring CEO.

The 24 hour record was something very peculiar. They were aloud to do even very long pit stops without losing time!? Sure, the rules are surely the same for everyone and the VW made new records.

Still, I wasn't too impressed. They were worried about the tires- the wheels cracked. All of a sudden a large piece of the underbody tore off -something important to aerodynamics- and the car went 10km/h faster! Also among other things, the engine broke (balancing shaft if I remember correctly).

Also this car differred VERY much from the car intended for production.

Really- why? To me it looks very unimaginative and boring. Also the car isn't really much technicalwise either. I'd rather even go for the Jaguar XJ220. Even though in my books the Jag isn't that exciting as far as supercars go, it's a lot more special than the VW. Come on, even the brand name says it! Volkswagen!

The Bugatti Veryon costs over $850,000. The VW supercar is less than half as much, the Lambo is highly unrefined - but superfast - therefore a blast to drive. The W12 is supposedly very refined (though not as violently fun as Lambo) so it is like a "poormans bugatti" - i don't see why they didn't use the Audi GT? It is much more attractive - and it doesn't have the goofy VW on the hood.

hello! Have any pics of the VW W12 I havn't seen it at all. I might of seen it but cann't pic it in my head. All I have seen was the dune bug that I hope they make and the rag top bug that is going to be at my local dealer. I love to get the dune bug all mud! Thanks for your time. See Ya later!

i don't have an pics handy of it. It along with the Audi GT have been taken off plans for any sort of production. It is essentially just a retuned - rebodied lamborghini murci.

The Bugatti Veyron doesn't cost $850,000, unless ofcource your talking about the concept model. The production one costs $750,000.

The W12 is going to go under a face-lift before it's release, and it will at least look better. Also, it's VW, so why not? I'd buy one. I'm sick of everything being about Lambos and Ferraris. VW is more than capable of crushing the Italians and beating them at their own game; they just don't have to do it. Besides they already own Lambo., so they really don't have to care at all. Also, if there's one thing about VW that makes them winners is their determination to make people like their cars. Just look at the Jetta (called "Bora" in Europe). It wasn't promising to the buyers, but VW kept at it and didn't give up. The empire wants you to like the car, and they'll do anything to persuade you. Hence you have the Jetta becoming one of the best-selling cars in North-America. And it deserves it too. The W12 doesn't really look bad (actually it looks real nice). Of course most of the photos out there are curiously low-quality.

I think the w12 looks good and i agree with izzy- im bored of ferrari this, and lambo that... Its time for some different companys to bring out supercars.

Yeah, and yuo just nkow VW would do it right, if they could first make up their minds about whether they wanna build it or not.
