ouch.

Here in the US, the civil court system is amazing. You almost hope you do get bashed up if someone hits you just so you can nail them with punitive damages.

Here in the US, you'd be in jail for the accident after the whole thing. I promise, here in the US, you really really really do not want to find yourself in prison. In europe prisons are civilized centers for reform. Here it is a place for those main society doesn't want to deal with to fester.

And god help you if your cell mate is bubba.

Yes Fox, the black M3s are "lookers" indeed!

By the way I think you should have tried all te Ms on the dealer's lot anyway! Even if just for the hell of it!

Thanks for the pics GIR. I enjoyed looking at those. Kind of funny too! But I think what you did was a bit crazy: I'd never take a loaded car with 3 passengers to 200KPH and beyond; heck I'd never even break 6000RPM in a Hyundai, even in 1st Gear. It's risky stuff. But funny nontheless! thumb.gif By the way I like the BMW the best (in the 1st pic).

Fox, absolutely everything you said applies to Canada as well! Except for bubba, of course. Here we have the crazy French-Canadian mobby who thinks he's tough. That's OUR bubba! At least he's not swinging your way though!

GIR again: What a moron indeed! Your buddy deserves what he got. But amazingly, he can go to a far off country with no real ties to the previous country, and he wcould be back at it again. Crazy ow the world works, eh?

if i sat and drove every m3 on the lot, they would not have let me come back and try out the 7 series. They don't like me either. I never buy anything from them - Otto's BMW in Chadd's Ford, Pa won't even give me the time of day.

I assume they all drive the same.

I have driven a hyundai locked into first at 32mph (that is the 6,500rpm redline in first) for 3 miles.

It wasn't happy with me. neither was its owner.

trust me, any french canadian guy with an attitude beats out being bubba's wife.

LOL. I 2nd that. I think anyonwe would take the French-Canadian over Bubba.

As for the Hyundais, I think the most responsive and reliable Hyundais are the Tiburon (called simply the "Coupé" in Europe), the XG, the Getz, the Santa Fe, and the Sonata. And Tiburon is probably the most speed-appreciative of all of them. That still doesn't mean I'd recommend 6KRPM though!

You should definitely suck-up to them an aweful lot so you can get to test-drive the 7 and other sweet cars they'll bring. That's what I'D do. Wouldn't it suck if they brought the 3 nwe Ms and they didn't let you T.D. them?

they let me td the 7 series.

getting them to let me drive the next gen M5 will be a challenge.

Me and my old man are already conspiring on a plan to get them to let us go out and have fun with it. Without the dealer manager coming with.

Geschrieben

LOL! Conspiring eh! Good, I like your style, you're a thinker! If (or when - depending on how ingenius it is...!) your plan works, if you could, swing by and pick me up! express4.gif

it's a hell of a test drive to haul out to vancouver and back. I'm pretty sure that M5 wouldn't be new anymore. I'm also pretty sure they wouldn't give us our blank check back either.

What is it with the germans and their damn limits?! WHY? WHY? WHY?!

Maybe with the autobahn and there being no speed limit they need to limit their cars just to keep idiots from killing themselves with stupid driving. Anywayz there are no german laws against it. All the german manufacturers just sat down and made a deal that their cars would be limited at 250. Why they did that is still a mystery to me.

I always thought Porsche was the only german manufacturer with out a limiter... guess I was wrong.

Some manufactors have a deal - limit at 250 km/h. Some have not. That's life. :D - There's no law for this.

The Motorcycles here in germany are limited their power to 98HP (uh bad english I think :D ) - the reason is, the insurance companys want much more money when you have a bike over 98HP - sometimes over 100% more.

the idea is this (i am pretty sure). It is a safety feature, and sure, like a lot of active safety features it gets in the way, but nearly all european cars feature it, it is a choice of responsibility on behalf of the manufacturer. just because the car is capable, doesn't mean it should be driven there. for safety.

So how about making a 4000HP car with 10000lb.ft. of Torque then, and limiting it to 250KPH. Huh fellas? Com'on. This is ridiculous. I hate limiters. Stupid people might need limiters because they'll be approaching a V-turn in an SL-600 and think: "hmm, I'll step on it, that way I can turn better...". that's why people need limiters. I don't. And if I have a car with a limiter, I'll kill the limiter. I'll destroy it with passion and dedication.

Hallo Gast RolandK,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für Verschiedenes über Autos (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

well, i think the limit should be there, but should be removable (apparently you can't remove it in new Mercedes) I know even new BMWs - you can buy a new chip for it and pull out the limit.

My 318i doesn't have a limiter - once I finish my numberous mods - we will see if it delivers on what the 150mph speedo promisses :D
