Hey guys, I'm new to this message board. I've been checking out this site since the first page was a picture of Roland sitting in his Diablo! I have to say this site has to be the best of it's kind for car freaks such as myself. Nice work!! My question is, what kind of engine do you like best? The big V12 with it's seamless power delivery, the small, high-revving inline six, the force-induced horizontally opposed six, the also small, Oh-so-Ferrari V8, or the rubber burning V8? Being that I only have experience with a 5 liter V8 and a 4.6 liter V8, I'm just curious as to what it's like to drive one of the "others". Thanks!!

From my point of view I do not have a favorite engine layout. It depends on the car and on the engine.

At the moment I love the sound and the power of the new inline 6 cylinder engine of my new M3.

But on the other side when I hear the bass of the V8 engine of my neighbours Corvette I'm really melting away.

Other feelings I have when I hear a 911 Turbo engine or a V12 Diablo engine.

Every engine has its own sound and pros and cons.

For me the one and only is the V12 sound of a Lamborghini Diablo.

I love it.

Check out the sounds of Roland and you'll love it too.

The one and only is the V8 sound of an american big block. That's my dream.

i know this is a little off the subject but now suburu has come with a new engine for the wrx that boost 460hp plus the stock hp. so about 572hp give or take. The new engine costs about $2,000 dollars

A turbo inline 6. Like the skyline engine with race fuel you can rev up to 10 000rpm.

Lambo V12 is great but unrefined and has an unusual resonance and vibration at high rpm which is quite annoying. (does anyone who has driven/owned a Diablo agree?)

BMW in-line 6 is FAB! Porsche Flat 6 is even better. Old Aston Martin Vantage twin supercharged V8 was stupendous

But the greatest engine ever for motorsport heritage, smoothness, power, sound and GLORY, (where the company built its reputation on both road and track) will forever be a Ferrari V12.

Manu how high can you rev the Ferrari V12?.

That picture is enough to make me cry.

My car's rev-limiter intervenes at 7650 rpm. (quite a lot for a 5.5 liter engine)

Hallo IwishIhadadiablo,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für Andere Automarken (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

I´ve different favourite engine layouts...

- in sportscars I prefer V8 or hot V6

- in sedans I like V12 most

- in convertibles...indifferently, but leastwise an V6

Where do you got this pic? Where it was taken?

About the topic I love V12 Ferrari F50 and V12 Mclaren F1 engine sound. This is real power feel.

I found it on some site with crash pictures. You can see the cars have numbers and the color on some parts on the cars dont seem to be allright. You can even see some stripes on some cars. so my guess would be somewhere during a crash test.

I used to live next door this guy who has this Corvette, couldn´t watch under the hood since didn´t know him. I don´t think sound can get any better than that car made. Stand still it sounded like truck and went accelerating, it was like hell was loose

Im sure you know what kind of sound I mean. Just beatiful..

The best I would have to say is the big I-6, like the one in the previous generation M5, or the 3.5L I6 that is coming up in the 535, 335, etc.

The sounds, the smoothness, the amazing torque, and it can rev clean to 7000 (not bad).

The sound is so clean and consistent. No porsche or Ferrari can claim such sophistication in its power. The one thing that is universal, the pushrod layout used in Corvette and Viper is just out of date. It is inefficent. Real Sports cars are Dual Over head cam.
