McLaren F1 #004, here for the first time in public is a photo of this car in Brunei and in its final state. There are a few public photos of this car but only in the factory during its assembly.

Mid-90s, the BRF ordered ten McLaren F1s (GT, GTR, LM) including 5 McLaren F1, the one that interests us today is the fourth produced, leaving the factory in 1994 in a magnificent Red Grand Prix, only another F1 received this color on chassis 028 ( @turboterrific9 ).

A few months later, during a road test by two Mclaren mechanics which took place every 6 weeks on the Tutong highway (Brunei) at around 80 mph in the rain a car crossed the highway and it was then that the driver wanted to dodge the car but lost control of the car.

By hitting the safety barriers, the car was badly damaged, for example the A pillar was completely destroyed, the stainless steel plate of the door sill was bent…

The two occupants of the car went to hospital but emerged unhurt despite the violence of the accident. The members of the royal family were accommodating to the mechanics and came to see them in the hospital.

Following this, the chassis was sent to the factory and then destroyed, the mechanical elements were used as spare parts and some parts were kept as souvenirs.
