i even though it sounds kinda mushy hollywoodish, definitely have to agree with that. God is love.

They give a driving theory test in England? Over here they just show you were the break and the gas pedals are, then hand you the keys.

yeah we have to prove that we know what stuff means

Hallo theKnowledge,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für Verschiedenes über Autos (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

I'm all for it. Driver's should know what they're doing and why. Driver standards in the U.S. are very low and it shows.

It's pathetic when all you have to do is drive around in a circle and/or go around 4 right with a stop sign on each corner. Then you have your license, yeah that's a REAL driving test let me tell you :bored:

They should start making you ACTUALLY drive on a road course in order to get your license. I swear it's to damn easy to get your license and we wonder why 16 yr olds drive like a bat out of hell, crash and die along with these old farts that putt-putt around.

i cant stand how people cant learn to use the passing lane solely for passing. i know they were told to in drivers ed.... inconsiderate....

It is pretty pathetic how in the U.S. there is no form of evasive driving training required to get a license, you just have to know how to park. As far as defensive driving goes, all you get are "helpful hints", like steer around an obstacle while you brake. :???:

People stopping about 8 feet past the line at a red light, well into the pedestrian crossing area. That bugs me man, makes me want to walk over their hood.

its seriously that easy to get a liscence? thats just stupidity there, anyone can drive a car around few corners or round a circle

Geschrieben

the only real tests are the ability to do a k turn, parallel park and using your turn signal throughout the process.

Geschrieben

All I had to do to get my license was drive in a straight line and stop at a stop sign and turn right. I did that 4 times and it obviously led back to the sherriff's station.

That's it, no K-turns or Parallel parking, just that.

man that makes my joke of a test seem like its almost weeding people out.

How about this theory?

Consider this, think of the wide ranging effect it would have on our country if everyone who could not complete a more demanding driver's test ( i.e. many many Americans ) were not given a license.

Most American's have very limited driving skills - correct? If the license standards were raised, that would leave millions of them who could not cut the mustard. Hence, a bike riding America. This would leave the U.S. at a fault, because it would have quite an impact on American productivity if many could not drive a car.

So, if you're an American, Uncle Sam wants you to have a license, no matter how limited your skills are. You can drive a junk heap ( something not allowed in Germany ) or you can drive with no pants on. All he asks is that you don't drink while driving. This is why it's so easy to get a driver's license in America. The productivity of the nation depends on it - plus it's a huge country, imagine having to walk.

thats a very good point. in englad we have very strich rules on a car's roadworthyness too
