Considering the overall condition shown in the photos, I can see someone paying 1,200-2,000 for the Lincoln. If it runs and rides smooth, and most of it still works maybe on the higher side, closer to 2,200 and because it's an LSC special edition.

Does it have the air suspension?

air suspension, JBL audio system, with the exception of the head unit i have an audiovox in there. FI302 mustang motor(original but rebuilt), AOD transmission, mag wheels, all chrome was stripped and painted black from the factory, tinted windows, I have to fix some things nothing major and i have extra parts that are very expensive to go with it(computer stuff). I have to drain some of the power steering fluid and it rides beautifully, moon roof, the only thing that doesn't work and i wont fix is the fuel guage $40 bucks and the alarm which i have. it really needs seats,a headliner,a center console and some tlc. Just about all of these can be taken from a junked car for about $300.

why, the 64 didn't get the Ralph Nader suspension. I am hearing it alot my mom and sister think its ugly, personally its a rewarding challenge and i get my classic. /without the classic price, oh the marks in the paint that look brighter like the paint is fading are prints from a bobcat that is living under the car he hasn't done any damage and runs as soon as he hears the iroc. yeah it's that loud.

Exactly, do you remember why they put in the Ralph Nader suspension? Just watch the tire pressure...

Actually, the Corvair suspension was revised for '64 with a leaf spring in the rear to better control the car. Ralph Nader picked on the Corvair, but the National Highway Safety Administration concluded later on, as did GM's own tests that any danger of driving one was unfounded.

But aside from that, the Corvair was a groundbreaking car for the whole American industry, so it makes a pretty unique collector car, especially a convertible - and 1964 was also the last year for the older style. If you want it, go for it. Here is a website you might find useful - http://www.corvair.com

I've seen a running Corvair on this site for $1,000 obo, so you should expect a good deal for the bobcat house.

i just messed up really bad. I took my buddy for a ride in my car, showed him the corvair. He loved the corvair, I let him drive the iroc back, all he said is how much he loved American "muscle cars" the whole way home. He has a 2001 Hyundai Tiberon, really pretty car. Now remeber that suspension comment on how new cars have really good suspensions. YOU ALL LIE.

Okay he was beating on it, it seemed really fast.

He got out told me to drive. Driving it, it seemed really fast @ 60mph, i mean my Iroc at 120 felt slow compared to 60 in that. Well the clutch movement was like a whole inch for out of gear to engaged and it was a short throw shifter. The steering wheel had like a 3:1 ratio. I'm serious every little motion and this car turned. an 1/8 of a turn did a u turn.

Okay turn onto a road, go over a hill @ 40mph the road disapears i find it but @ the top of the hill the car goes almost airborn, i lose the back end and i put it in neutral counter steer, lose it, repeat 4-5times, i couldn't get traction, finally the car completely loses it, the suspension wouldn't let the car grip, when i tried to steer with it the car went into a spin, when it spins to where the i can see where i am going i see brickwall. I put it into gear turn the wheels as hard as i can front end hits the wall, and turns. The car proceeds to continue spinning thankfully. Smash the rear end of the car into the wall keeps spinning, get the other end , the drivers side hits a deck at the quater panel. Car stops, before it even stops I look at my buddy he's fine. The airbags didn't even go off. The car is totaled. I asked if he had collison he says yes. Cop comes, takes my license stuff and his vehicle info.

It turns out he doesn't have collision, my car is parked and so is my license.

Damages known....... front end totaled,: clip, all the stuff that holds it, one turning signal, windshield, cracked radiator, hood, and anything in that area. Rear: both quater panels, rear tail light, paint job.

i am completely shot, when said he fund out he didn't have collison it was the first time i have cried since i was 12. I have to pay for it...............

here is what is happening so far, i am selling the lincoln, i was going to sell the iroc, but my insurance company gave me reason otherwise. I have 0 liability towards him. In otherwords dont ever loan your car out to anyone.

I am going to repair his car, but my way and i am going to use my guys if he okays it. it will cost me around $2000 to $4000 to do it. I am going to give him the option of a body kit and anything else that involves the body work. I will give him 3500. and thats it. so if he has to pay my body guy $500 so be it. Does this sound reasonable? Plus i am going to have him put glass coverage onto his car and ill put a glaze on it and he can file for that when the glaze wears off.

The place he took it to called for 6500 in parts and totaled the car. Does this sound reasonable to you guys?

Oh and i get to keep my license but my insurance company requested that i store my car until i become an exprienced driver. Which means 3 years, and it was going away for five years in two months anyway, so I can handle that.

Hallo iroc-z89,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für US Cars (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

To tell you the truth, nothing would be fair outside of getting him a new car. You wrecked his car.

i figured if i fixed it because it is all body damage.... the place he took it to gave a final # of $8700, he was only gonna sell it for 7k. I found all the parts(new) minus the hood for 1k. so 1250 plus paint so 2500, and i would get my buddies to do it it would take a day maybe two and that would be 1k for labor.

My mom is calling for 3500 to him, i would sell the lincoln, and pay it off this summer. Then surrender the plate to the iroc.

My dad wants me to give him 7K. now considering thats what he would want to sell it for 7k. I would take it off him and try to get 800 for it since it bluebooks @ 10k. He wants me to surrender my license and sell all my cars. It is all superficial damage minus the radiator i priced the parts very cheaply as stated above. So i figure 800 to a body guy would make someone real happy. My buddy already bought a new truck.

Whatever money i had left i would tyr to buy some form of a frame for.

Here is the frame: 00457328803.jpg if you haven't noticed my ability to achieve the goal of money just keeps on dying.

yeah but i am not one for creating many threads. I got such a headache. The guys are tellling me i can get 5k for the iroc, 7500 is what i paid for it. I would be happy with 7k and i would take 6.5k. I dont know what to do.

Boy, you live way too dangerously, but at least you were'nt hurt.

All these numbers being thrown around, with body shop estimates and all - It's probably not worth it. You're off the road for a while anyway, so I would suggest selling your cars to the highest bidder, offer your buddy a fair amount of the money straight up, and cut your losses. It's fortunate nobody is sueing anybody in this matter. Other than that, I don't know what to say. It's one of those situations that begs for a turn back of the clock. The Corvair sounds like a pretty good investment right about now, if only you had the money. Or buy that Chevy and sell it on Ebay.

This thread should have been called "Rebel Without a Cause - The Diary".

yeah i know LNC, but i am probably going to give him 6k, especially since as far as a law suit he can't even take me to court. No fault state. I think that sounds fair because if he parts the car out he will ge another 1000 for the engine/tranny and other stuff. the car has 51,000miles so about 500 engine, 200 transmission stuff and then junk it. and he can lose a few hundred since i just lost everything. Im hoping i get to keep my girlfriend, honestly.

Geschrieben

that was low, that was real low. Actually she was the one who went after me, i didn't ask her out. Real pretty, virg, and skinny as hell

how hard is it to get a title for a car that doesn't have one, NJ.

:lol::lol::lol::)

Do you pay for your girlfriend, or is she free?
hahaha. that was a little mean though. judging by the rocks there is no way she is free. sounds a little high maintanence to me... but i guess thats just how he likes everything in his life O:-)

im just playin with ya :)

dont you think your getting a little to personal with the description of the girl?? i mean ones 'virg' status is not something that should be broadcast on the internet.

Geschrieben

yeah well, personally it does say alot about the girl to me, and why not have high maintenance stuff? Hey bleh, if you know anyone looking for a cheap running car and they dont mind doing easy interior work- 2.2k for the lincoln.

Geschrieben

ill ask around :-))! but the people i know looking for cars arent willing to pay that much. my brother needs something but after his most recent experience with a chevy, i doubt he will buy domestic again.

Geschrieben

edit. i was asked not to sell it for a while. I am going to put it back together try to get 3.5k or at least 3

Geschrieben

Good idea about getting the Lincoln into the best possible shape before selling.

And about the "virg" thing. A teenage girl who still is one is not unussual. But a lot of girls these days get around, so yeah it says something about her.
