Driving advice

Hi all, I have an M3 with SMG. I was wondering what is the best way to minimize or prevent rollback when you are stopped on a hill ??? Should I put the car in 2nd gear after letting go of the brakes and take off ??? I'm going to try the gradient assist feature soon and see how that works. Any other suggestions ???

if i get what you mean, i just release the clutch to the fiction point before letting off the brake, which will hold the car and then push on the gas...

its an SMG so it doesnt have a clutch. try that gradient assist feature, if not cant you go fully automatic? leave it in auto on the hill.
