What is your overall favorite looking car and show some pics of it. I would go with the Eggy. Enjoy:

c'mon, don't say that engine isn't beautiful!

(the car aint bad looking either)

It's okay.

It looks like a NASA jukebox, and whats with the nuclear peanutbutter interior?

This is pretty gorgeous ...

Tell me the Egg's steering wheel isn't reminiscent of Aston.

If you've been reading my posts, it's no surprise that I picked the Zonda.

Mmmmm... Carbon Fiber!!

I hear the aerodynamics on that thing are such that if you could find the track and the driver, you could drive it upside down because the downforce is obviously greater than 1g.

Geschrieben

No one can deny the sheer artistry of the Zonda. It doesn't get much more handcrafted than that. You'd have to be blind not to know you're riding in an exotic. Even still, just feel around you. :)

Geschrieben

yes, but an S7 can drive upside down! :D

George Jetson has nothing on Steve Saleen

Geschrieben

Upside down? I don't believe that for a second. The S7 weighs around 2,750 lbs. and hits not much over 200 mph. It would have to be going a whole lot faster than it can go to keep from falling off the ceiling, fast enough to bottom out the suspension and blow the tires probaby.

I'm with Kleine, the Zonda is one of the most intriguing, if not out right beautiful cars today.

As far as " normal " cars, I will choose the Alfa Romeo 156 GTA ... Italian sculpture

Hallo 8-ball,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für Verschiedenes über Autos (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

the McLaren OWNS! that V12 is a beast

and Alfa Romeo has a special spot in my heart, but its hard for me to accept a GM/Fiat based front wheel drive alfa, they are just not right, like the new saabs. And the S7 can hit 220+ and it has 335/20/R something big tires, it won't explode.

the GTAs are amazing. they tested them at my uncles resort in sardinia. he said they were a blast to drive. they left him with one after they took off for a month. a lot of companies test their cars in sardinia. the roads are amazing.

Geschrieben

how did i know that was coming. I was just waiting for GIR to fire up some dutch pride.

in his defense that is an amazing car.

(but it has a british/german engine in it!)

Seriously, that car is really strange looking, I don't understand what the appeal of it is asthetically. Although I will say that it's doesn't look half bad in race trim, I like the aircraft style rivet job. The looks definitely benefit from the wheel flares and big tires.

Geschrieben

i see it as a stunningly beautiful piece of art, so i find it strange you share none of that enthusiasm with me.

The Spyker design was definitely done with art in mind, I agree with that, and I commend them for using their imagination, but it's almost too " organic ". The mirrors look like a blob, and the wheels sink into the body. I think it's important for a car, sportscar anyway, to maintain a certain chiseled, machine-like presence, a connection to the mechanical world, even if it's just the wheels. If you look at some old Italian exotics for example, many have very beautiful organic, flowing shapes. But they also have a measure of " sharpness " that grounds their appearance.

But like I said, the Race Spyker has a pretty good dose of this, so I think it looks good. It's design is a good balance between soft, and sharp. I think it's cool the way it looks like a land based aircraft.

Geschrieben

Nah the wheels in most of the pictures are magnesium racing wheels. Spyker also has it's own design "AeroBlade TM" wheels. And c'mon! Those rims aren't that big. It comes with 18 inch rims and 19's are optional. The ones on the picture below are 18". The wheels look big because the car is actually small.

It's a good looking car damnit! About the engine, I guess the guyz over at Spyker thought: "Why reinvent the wheel when it's already there". They have been hinting about wanting to produce their own engines aswell but I think they're not yet upto the task, I think they should first get a strong foothold in the market and racing industry. Anywayz why invest so much money into something when you can buy a block for a much cheaper price.

LNC I thought you'd atleast like the interiour which has some 60's Airplane vibe to it. And how can you say those mirrors look like "blobs"? Look how nicely and elegantly they integrate with the overall design.

that car is the most original and beautiful piece of automotive art i've seen in a long time, and i think it is every bit what i expected from the dutch, authenticallly creative.

I love the car, it's amazing, very over priced, and when he says it's small, it' s really tiny.

don't argue with what work, and those wheels work.

Geschrieben

Lets face it, looks is just as important as performance. Compared to the Saleen, the Pagani or the KoenigsEgg it's a small time player and doesn't quite have the performance to run with them.

The way it's setup you can really tell it's a track car and not a 0-60 car. Although it can do sub 4 0-60 runs in the highest state of tune the engine's been set for all mid and high range.

A Le Mans race doesn't stop, except in the pits and in the pits you have enough time to get upto speed before you leave. It's about who can get the 1000km done first so getting away first at the start doesn't matter at all. The car has been tuned for those circumstances, endurance and top speed.

Maybe the Pagani could beat it when it comes to a Le Mans race but the Saleen and the KoenigsEgg, no way!

If you want a truely unique great looking car then Spyker is the way to go.

Geschrieben

Why, cause pagani has a benz engine? I don't think the pagani has topend handling and power on the spyker. The spyker as you said is exceptional at the higher ranges. It's 4.0L V8 can reach 10,000rpms and be torquey as the devil up there too, and it can maintain it. The koenigsegg might not have the sturdiness right now for endurance racing (running superchargers that long that hard generally doesn't bode well), but I think saleen would be able to finish competitively, maybe not ahead, but with a good time none the less. None are as unique looking or uniquely engineeered though.

Geschrieben

The body styling doesn't strike any of you the least bit peculiar? I find it a little odd the way the tail kind just of drops off in the quarter angle above. They really play that propeller theme to the hilt, chromed propeller wheels? I didn't think they looked particularly big. Perhaps I would like it better in person where I could see it in all it's angles. Bright red leather aside, I do like the airplane vibe of the interior, the shifting mechanism is clever.

It's definitely an artistic piece, the materials look quality. I just think it could use a lot of work. Some finishing. Once again, not to complain against the Spyker, I commend them for creating their own " mold ".

Geschrieben

I actually think its an extremely beautiful car and not sayin that jus cuz i'm dutch.

I like the side mirrors cuz they r different and unique and i love uniqueness.

I'm not much into cars that have chrome wheels or the look of chrome but those look real tight.

BTW how much r those spyker's neway?

I love the front of the Zonda but i absolutely HATE the back its so ugly.

Other than that the Zonda is a beautiful car i'd give it a 7 outta 10 if it wasn't 4 the back.

I'd give the Spyker a 9 outta 10 for looks.
