i thought you guys might enjoy messing around with these formulas. they arent that accurate but you can figure out roughly a few things about your cars. for example with the hp=(trapspeed/234)^3xweight equation you can find efficient your transmission is. enjoy!

EDIT: and how well your transmission works with the hp curve. that is assuming you know your cars hp.

some of those are really worthwhile. A lot of them are just common sense (like how to calculate piston velocity and the like). The ones that relate times in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile and 1/4 mile times and horsepower are flakey at best, because they are assuming everything is a constant. A high strung car with no low end and low drag coef will be faster in the quarter than its 1/8 would have you know, a powerful torquey SUV would be slower in the 1/4 than its 1/8 would have you think.
