You mean mercedes and bmw? Sorry, but i think that Ferrari is far far better than these. But MB & BMW are extremely good too.

Well, I'd love to analyze the heck out of it. To be honest this kind'a thing is right up my alley. But right now I have no energy to go into extreme discussions and details. Maybe later.

LateNight, you said what we were all thinkin'! We could pretend that Ferrari's the best. but the spinning propeller, the black/red/gold shield with the horse in the middle, and the three-pointed star (and even the quad-hoola) suggest otherwise. 'Nuff said.

Oh, and LateNight, I actually asked Roland (a long time ago) about the limited number of smileys we have over at the English section, and he said he'd put it on his to-do list. But then again I think he has better things to do than that, and besides he's probably forgotten about it. You can suggest it if you really want the extra smileys, but you can always copy the smileys from the German section.

As far as overall cars go, can we forget the cars with things leaping off the hood.

GIR say's that Mclaren(-BMW) still produses the F1!!?? I didn't know that! I can buy one if i want? I think that Mclaren made about 100 F1 (from 1994-1998) and most of them were racing cars.So what are the features of today's F1? THe same with 1994 model? Any design changes?

I could swear there was a 2000 model but apparently they stoped at 1997... I wonder where I got that from. Maybe I'm confused with the Viper. Anywayz yes you are correct they did stop at 1997 but the number of produced cars would have to be much higher then 100 if they ever wanted to qualify for the Le Mans.

I believe that the F1 is a revolutionary car and all the things GIR wrote are correct. Many people say that it's the best production car ever, even today. I like it too. But i think that enzo is better anywhere except from top speed and acceleration.

Gordon Murray had to sacrifice low end torque for top speed, it wouldn't make sense for a car like the F1 to have alot of low end torque anywayz. It's made for Grand Tourismo, the car almost never stops except in the pits and in the pits it has enough time to accelerate before leaving the pits. It's made for endurance and speed.

Also it had to be sold commercialy. In those days traction control wasn't as advanced and I guess Gordon thought it would break the natural feel of the car. Anywayz not everybody buying the car can actually handle the car. So if it had alot of low end torque it would probably slip out of control. Just look at the huge number of crashed F1's because it has alot of mid range torque, from the 3th gear up it has brutal power. The BMW CEO even crashed the BMW showcar, the only thing he could say is that it has way too much power in the higher gears and he didn't expect that.

The Enzo on the other hand has a semimanual box, launch control, traction control and allkinds of electronics thinking along with the driver. Too much in my opinnion. If I wanted electronics giving me a safe and smooth ride I would buy a Mercedes not a Ferrari. With a Ferrari I want brute power, loud sound and the Ferrari feeling. With the old Ferrari's the engine is mounted directly onto the main frame so you can feel the engine viberate through the car and other reasons aswell. Not entirely confortable for everyday use but the feeling it gives is just awesome. Everytime you punch the pedal you can feel the power through the whole car and so can the person in the lane next to you.

Dont forget that F1 is 10 years old. And, F1 maybe is the best car in history, but I and the most of people believe that Ferrari is the best car company in the universe. So don't underestimate Ferrari.

I say Ferrari was the best company. I really do not like the cars Ferrari has been producing lately. Apart from the 360 challenge stradale all cars from the 360 and up just don't have that special thing that makes them Ferrari. Like the F40. If you want to take your F40 out for a long drive through the country, forget it. The loud sound will make you deff and the open roof will make you cold and Enzo didn't care about such things. The car is an amazing performer.

Enzo didn't care how comfortable the car is or how out of control it is. He just wanted cars that are fast and powered by brutal engines. And as a racer the F40 is near perfect.

Their technology passion and engineering is the best.GIR i thought that you liked Ferrari! Am i wrong?? Enzo and F1 are extremely good cars. which is the best and which is more beautiful is a subjective thing, i think. Arty you must stop swearing like an idiot!

Every since Enzo past away, may his soul rest in peace, Ferrari has been going downhill. I agree Enzo has given us the most amazing cars on the planet, nobody can ever come close to those, but the cars that are coming out Ferrari's plant aren't designed according to Enzo's legacy anymore. They're more designed to what could sell instead of what is Ferrari.

I just think it's blasphemy to have Enzo's name on a car liek the Enzo. If a car is going to carry the name of Enzo Ferrari then it should be a beautifull car that just blows the competition (yes even the F1) away and sets the standard for years to come. Enzo doesn't deserve anything less because he will always be the god of carmakers. I'm sure that in the future, when everybody is driving around in their drive-by-wire flying cars, people still will look back and say how amazing Enzo's cars where (They will also look back and say how ignorant people where back then and how drive-by-wire imprived not only their car but their entire life... Cable :P;) ).

I like the old Ferrari's. Heck I wouldn't mind having a 250 LM or a Testarossa parked outside rightnow, too bad I can't say the same about the latest generation Ferrari's.

The 575 GTC comes close to Enzo's legacy but I'll hold off that one untill we know more about it.

Just my humble opinion :)

Depends what's leaping off the hood! :D

Yeah, you and about 29000 other people are tied for 1st. Yay. Yippee. Fan-diddly-tastic. Cheers m8. Good for you. Rock on. Live the dream. I don't even know what I'm saying here.

[Long Post]

I'll answer this in a seperate post.

my favorite was when someone (i think latenight) asked WiWa how the hell he was a moderator. They didn't think of the german side, where, I think WiWa has more posts than I do here. WiWa was just like "what's wrong with you". It was pretty funny. See, i have no posts over there, because my german is pretty awful, and german people are generally smart, so i'll stay here where i'm not going any new assholes torn for me (atleast for the moment)
