Hey, we all would. The only question now is which version of fast will it be?

BMW Needs to have more than just 1 car they are going to put it in which would be the 760i/Li. Another possibility is that they have a 660Ci and the M a V10, but that would be very awkward to have an M motor smaller than the stock motors.

Well, it depends how divirgent the 5 and 6 series are, if they are near twins, then count on the 5.5L V10, but if the 6 is very different, or similar to a 7, look for a special 6.x L V12.

Either way, it'l be just as fast.

i don't know. the very first thing that popped into my head when i saw the new 6 was just, Aston Martin. maybe that is invalid but something just looks like it was a distant relative to the Vanquish, which are beautiful cars, but that look is too trademark of Aston Martin. maybe i'm being a little too critical, but i'm not very impressed.

Your all wrong. The BMW M6 for sure is better than the CL600, but the CL600 is the wrong car to compare to. Compare the M6 to the 2005 SLR Mercedes Benz, with a 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. No the M6 aint faster. And this Top Speed 200 mph. Now that will smoke the bmw m6. Lastly the mercedes benz has much more comfort and luxury than the m6 which i dont care about. Any questions email me at tallpersian247@yahoo.com.

Mercedes 4 Ever!!!!

well, actually, if you are going to be technical, in terms of size class, the M6 directly compares to a CLK55 AMG.

The upcoming M1 compares to the SLR.

I really doubt that the SLR is going to blow the doors off a V10 powered M1.

And unless the CLK55 gets some supercharger action soon, it is M6 meat.

Geschrieben

I agree that the CLK will lose to the M6. But I think that if you put the fastest BMW (M6) against the fastest mercedes (SLR) the mercedes would win. I also think that mercedes (even though i like it better than bmw) has a shitty racing team unlike bmw who is in second after ferrari. This doesnt have to do with the M6 but my dads 330ci convert is slower 0-60 than my moms S500 which i think is kinda weird.

Geschrieben

a 330ci is heavy for its smallish engine. An S500 is over 2 times more expensive, it should be faster. It is faster by a little over half a second to sixty, that is nothing huge.

And the 2006 M1 will be the fastest bmw - and I don't know that the SLR will have such an easy time with beating it.

Keep in mind, the V10 to power M5, M6, and M1 draws heavily on the Williams BMW F1 technology. M1 will be a racecar.

Geschrieben

I was saying that the S500 goes fast comparing it to how much it weighs. It is a really big car. How do i go to the carpool thing to add cars to it?

Geschrieben

adding your carpool is in your profile.

the S500 also has a 5.0L V8 - which is tuned for extemely flat torque curve, is geared aggressively, and weighs 450lbs more than a 330i conv., yet has 77 more horsepower and 113 more ft/lbs of torque.

so

S500 - 4,170lbs/302hp= 13.8lb/hp

330Ci Conv: 3,704lb/225hp=16.5lb/hp

The S500 should be pretty well faster - look, it has 3 fewer pounds to carry around for every horsepower.

Hallo 850 Ci,

schau doch mal hier zum Thema Zubehör für Sportwagen Kaufberatung (Anzeige)? Eventuell gibt es dort etwas Passendes.

This is one of those very few times when I might be swayed by the charms of another besides BMW. The " M6 " is a Bangle design, and I'm not sure if I could drive one of those ( let alone spend good money on one ) and feel good about it.

If the BMW got too bloated, then I just might consider a big old Merc ... Maybe.

Geschrieben

Can I tell you something? Don't get rid of the 850Ci. It's well worth keeping. THey're pretty rare too, nowadays, so if you keep it in good shape long enough, not only will it not become less valuable, but it might actually become more valuable than when you bought it. Trust me, selling it might end up becoming a decision you'll regret. (By the way, you and I have had this conversation before, haven't we, 850 Ci ?!).

Anyways, now that I got that off my chest, I think if anyone wants an M6 or a high-end CL, they should consider Hartge or Hamann's version of the M6 (coming soon), or a Lorinser/Renntech or Lorinser/Brabus CL65. If you're going to spend that much dough, why not go all the way? Their more powerful, AND better looking. Speaking of power, a Renntech CL65K is bound to have about infinte foot-pounds of Torque. I'd say the same thing about a Hartge or Hamann M6, but I'm not even sure about the final engine specs on the M6 yet. But whichever you go with, you're guaranteed to be purchasing one of the best cars on the face of the Earth. I think anyone would agree with that.
