What do you think about the VW New Beetle, either the turbo

I actually own a VW Beetle 1.8T and I can honestly say that it is the funnest car ive ever driven, I mean, I'm only 16 but still, Ive had a Camaro V8 before, the anniversary edition, and ive driven most of my dad's cars, which include a 1996 BMW 850ci and some of the 300ZX among the most interesting, and the beetle which wipe a frown from your face before any of those other cars. This message is just a recomendation for anyone who is considering a VW Beetle

I havent got a ride in a new one but i love the old one. Less then 800kg of weight. Rwd and engine back. I can say with 200hp it realy scares you. Nice car list turbonium. WOW 16 here you have to be 18 just to get a drivers license. Then i bet the Beetle RSI must be real funny.

yeh, here in mexico you see old beetles everyday, hundreds of them, and in most countries 18 is the age to get a driver's license but things are very diffrent in mexico, i think everyone should come visit my country sometime its worth it.

The "new beetle" is a nice looking car, but I think that it´s more for women. With an V6-engine it could be good.

I happen to own a 2000 1.8 Turbo Beetle. Its the sweetest car that I have driven. I am 18, and my mom has a BMW 330i, but I love my car. It can really go when you push it to the floor, and the cornering is unbelievable. When I was in Germany, these Bettle's were just passing us by at 220 kph, so these cars can really go! :grin:

I love my beetle I is fast and it handles the road like a glove. I bet a 99 mustang gt the guy didn't even look at me at the next light. I had it at 130mph and it still wanted to go. I think the New Beetle never has real succes. The New Mini does much better. I don't like the idea to release a cabrio version of the New Beetle in 2003, that's much too late. Don't you think Citroën should make a New 2CV?

These are cars (both of them) playing off their past image and nostalgia. Even the sportiest beetle simply lacks sportiness. It seems they now want Beetle to become Gold, Cabrio, and GTI all at once. I have very little respect for the beetle. The Mini Cooper is an impressive car. The original was amazing, the new one is pretty good. I have a freind who drove the Mini-S variant. He said it had plenty of zip, handled with amazing tact, and had steering as mushy as a lincoln. Overall he was impressed - though noting it was a very small car. Both Mini and VW lost the spirit of their precursors in their new creations, but both came up with interesting - and in the mini's case - pretty good cars.

I had the chance to drive a beetle RSi, the sound is very special, it sounds very similar to a VR6 A3 but more agressive thanks to the remus exhaust. I t handles to the road amazingly, inclusively more than a S3 or S4. The highest speed I could reach was 240 km/h and it was very hard to increase it. The brakes are excellent, I never felt them "strange". It is a very good car.
