There is a company in canada (i think they are in brittish columbia) who modifies volkswagens, they would have some good ideas, they used twin KKK turbos on a eurospec 2.8 VR6, twin allied signal air/water intercoolers, and various power modifications (the boost was so high at peak, compression had to be reduced to 6.8:1 to avoid pinging - and that was on 94 octane!. Anyhow, they got 420hp from the 2.8. They would have some good ideas. If you have 30k laying around, they could make your GTI 0-60 as fast as a 911 turbo.
