"I was so surprised when they [FIA] said no, we will sort out qualifying and leave the racing alone because it's exciting. As drivers we've been extremely vocal that the problem is not only qualifying, it's also racing and we've [GPDA] been warning that this kind of accident was always going to happen."

"Here we were lucky there was an escape road, now imagine going to Baku or going to Singapore or going to Vegas and having this kind of closing speeds and crashes next to the walls. I or we as GPDA, we've warned the FIA these accidents are going to happen a lot with this set of regulations and we need to change something soon if we don't want them to happen. It was 50G I heard, it's higher than my crash in Russia in 2015, I was 46G. Just imagine what kind of crash you could have in Vegas, Baku etc."

"I hope it serves as an example and the teams listen to the drivers and not so much to the teams and people that said the racing was okay because the racing is not okay."

Following the accident involving Oliver Bearman at the Japanese Grand Prix and the contribution of high closing speeds in the accident, the FIA would like to provide the following clarifications.

Ich denke eher ein F1 Ende, die Karriere als Rennfahrer wird er sicherlich nicht beenden.

Wenn Max Verstappen die F1 tatsächlich nicht mehr erfüllen sollte, dann wäre es aus meiner Sicht nur konsequent wenn er sich aus der Serie zurückzieht und in anderen Rennklassen neuen Spaß findet. Ein solcher Schritt könnte vielleicht auch ein deutliches Signal an die FIA-Komiker sein und zum Umdenken anregen. Denn wenn selbst die größten Stars beginnen der F1 den Rücken zu kehren, dann sägt die Serie letztlich an ihrem eigenen Ast.

Wahrscheinlich kommt am Ende wieder Bernie zurück und strukturiert den Laden nochmal neu, bis er wieder rundläuft. 💪 Finde ohnehin, dass der exzellent vernetzte Gebrauchtwagenhändler im aktuellen F1-Zirkus fehlt. Er ist halt einfach eine kleine große und besondere Persönlichkeit!

Lasset die Spiele weitergehen. No risk no fun. Ohne ein Fan der neuen Regeln zu sein, sind das die besten Fahrer. Nach meiner Meinung müssen sie das hinkriegen.

Genau so sehe ich das auch. Vor allem bei dem „Schmerzensgeld“ welches die Piloten in der F1 verdienen. Dafür waren die Autos noch viel gefährlicher, und die Fahrer haben drastisch weniger verdient – und da hat sich auch keiner der Piloten in der Form über sein Berufsrisiko lautstark beschwert.
