well i was reqading on the internect autospies little article on the new M5, and it kind of gave me a dissapointment. read this:

Final horsepower is speculated at just under 500

0-60 in under 4.5 seconds

First.... "just under...500HP!!!!??? :x i wish that is not true, then another shock, 4.5seconds? it better be at least 3 seconds shorter then id be happy. even then, it had to be fater than the dinan m5 from previous generation, it just ahs to be. well the 160mph does not sound bad, neither the CSL, but i hope these figures increase by the time the M6 debuts, because i am planning on buying that car when it comes out. i hope it will be worth it. but now im in doubts. maybe a CSLfor the M6? well my qwuestion is... is this worth believing, cuz im having trouble believeing it, it has to be at least 500hp, and less than or equal to 4.1. thats for teh M6 mind you. but i really hope this turns out with bmw suprising us with better figures, your thoughts in this?

the new m5 will be in the 500 horse range i believe that they are not sure exactly what the final horsepower will be all i know that is it will be in the range of 500

boooooooooooooooooo (thumbs down) let me get this straight... the car is uglier and not that much faster??? the only thing that excited me about the new 5 series was waiting for the new m5, but if its just a dooder.... dissapointing, i hope this isnt accurate.

i'll be severely dissapointed if it isn't fastest in class. if it doesn't beat an E39 S2-M5 Dinan, then the people at bmw have lost their touch.

Well that Magnesium V10 will be good for a conciderable weight reduction combine with magnesium wheels I think the E60 M5 will be lighter then it's predecesors.

And like fox always sais. All magazines come with a figure prior to release and when they finaly do release the car it turns out to be much higher.

magnesium v10, and wheels?!?!?! i was not aware of this. no way will it be the same compound used in F1 wheels. those wheels weld themselves to the axles if left on for too long.

i don't think these are the same compounds (BMW tends not to make cars that weld themselves together). I'm hoping they come out over 500hp and under 3,800lbs.

LOL yeah i would hope they would use different materials. but then it would be a composite, or a blend. and would ity really save that much weight?

well i know that the 645Ci is 1600kilos or somehting like that, jsut above a porsche turbo. which is light, and im sure the M6 will be pretty dman light. im concerned for the m6, cuz the design definetly derserves more than less than 500hp. it had ot go 0-60 in at least 4.0 secs. but we are tlaking about the M5. i dono the designs abolutely beautiful, not as much as the new 6series, which i think is equal or better looking than my 8 sereis, but its nice. but those two (being the M5,M6) deserve more than 500hp, and less than or equal 4.1 secs, more so for the M6
