Friend is considering the purchase of a 308 or a 328. Any advice on what to look out for? Thanks all.

yeah, they are the most royal pain in the - to fix. wanna fix a clutch, engine is coming out, maintanance is awful. it was not a car desgined to be worked on.

look for anything mechanical. it is definately better to spend more on the outset than have troubles later.

Another major thing to look for is the timing belt. Make sure that it has been changed recently, that's a major pain to do. And if it's an 89 328 make sure there are no problems with the ABS system, another major pain.
