A stock Civic does not sound like a Ferrari, take it from me I've driven both cars. However there are lots of mods you can do to make a Civic sound just like a Ferrari (not the other way around. You can install the so called "Bomb blast" exhaust tips, which is nothing but a horn, and it will make the same deep sound as a Ferrari.

It's all fake and for ricers. It doesn't give you any extra performance just some extra decibels. They are illegale over here but most ricers take it off when they have to come in for their anual checkup.

Personally I hate these exhaust tips and I think they should be banned. Nothing worse walking about quitly and having one of them Honda's pull up behind you. They make an awfull lot of noise!

they are abnoxious. I hate people who drive around these civics with lots of stickers, a wing, and that ungodful sounding exhaust.

these sad ricers have forgotten there is a difference between exhaust note quality and quantity. Civic with fart pipe = quantity, ferrari = quality

sadly, the majority of the people in these cars are really cocky. because they have a wing (applying downforce to the rear of their front wheel drive cars) and stickers, lights, and an exhaust, they can go fast. Sorry guys, not so much accurate.

You guys probably havn't heard a civic @8grand with a header and mugen exhaust. THat does sound kindof like a Ferrari. I have heard both. I mean, really, it kindof does. Although not at idle. It sounds completely different at idle. A while back I read a comparison between a mustang GT and a Integra type R with a mugen exhaust, I think in motortrend, and the author described the mugen exhaust as "the best sounding thing this side of a ferrari." I know that doesn't say too much about the timbre or character of the sound, but it does say something of the quality.

Fart can works well as a description of most civics though.

I can't believe this thread still gets any action, it's nearly three years old. I think people click into it out of curiosity.

Anyway, as far as standard factory exhausts go, they are pretty conservatively tuned most of the time - even on a Ferrari, no fault of the engine. But it will definitely make music as the revs build.

Check your ears bud... If you ever heard the exhaust of a 355 or 360 in real life your opinion would change. they do not sound at all the same from videos. and with a tubi or capristo exhaust, it's intoxicating!
