"throttle with gears"?!

Today I had a possibility to test ´99 mazda 323 1.5 65kW (a real rocket hahah).. and I experinced the stranges throttle settings ever. Id like to ask all YOU out there, is it normal that throttle has kind of "gears"?!! You push down a bit -first nothing happens and then there is a "empty area" by over it jums and then is solid area, and this happens 3-4 times when pushing it to floor.

Audi A4 1.8 has very long clutch but it is easy to get used to... this "throttle with gears" felt so weird i had to ask about it. Could it be some failure in the chip, or is this one of those japanise inventions that sometimes are just too weird for europeans?

Not automatic, it´s 5 speed manual ..this is what amazes me :smile:

Oops, you are right. It sounds really strange. 5-speed manual?!?!? I don't know. Sorry.

Maybe you have to drive to Madza.

Well, told about throttle for the owner.. said he´ll mention about it in next service. Im sure its somekind of failure, or then the cows can fly.....
