Audi wins at LeMans

I like Audi's and all, but when the Audi R8 won the 24 hours of L3 Mans, I was so disappointed. This is cuz they beat out a panoz, thats it. And panoz isn't dat great of a car. If other major manufacturers were in da race, like mercedes, toyota or porsche, then i would say audi deserved the win. But to win it against the Panoz is truly sad, so my opionion is that audi didn't earn the Le Mans victory like McLaren or Porsche.

You do have a point there, but remember, the drivers from both the Panoz and Audi team are fantastic. The Audi car is also marvelous.

But you do have a point; they should win against a better company to prove they are the best.

This is a really old thread and I don't meant to **, so I'll keep it short. What you said doesn't really make any sense. While it is always better to see more top-end companies in the line-up, I still fail to see why Audi didn't deserve to win LeMans just because it was running against Panoz. First of all Panoz is more capable than you make it sound, and secondly I think you would see similar results if Audi was running against Ferrari and Lamborghini, for example, because Audis are very good as far as engineering goes. The only important remaining factor was who were the drivers, who as Shaunt mentioned, were both good.
