well, seeing as there isn't such thing as a camaro or a firebird anymore, what point is asking? Mustang, Firebird and Camaro all need/needed help, a lot of it. Hopefully the 2005 mustang will fix it for the stang.

Not much of late? The Mustang is better than it's been in years. And the retro styled '05 model can't be bad news.

And just because Camaro and Firebird aren't built anymore, does not mean they don't still exist. That's what GM would like you to think, so they can get you into a new crappy model.

yea, but if they got rid of that piece of crap 4.6l engine... although the cobra has the same engine it is alot better.

GM wasn't selling them. The average dealer had over a 240 day stock of camaros, more camaros on hand than they could sell in 240 days. Mustang was a mere 41 days of stock on average. My best freind has a mustang, quality is sad at best, refinement isn't there, and that beam axle needs to go. The 2005 will be a quantum leap forward, and will redo justice to the stang, but the current mustang platform dates back to 1978. As for the 4.6L SOHC engine, the heads on that don't breath so well. the 4.6L DOHC is much better. A 5.0L version of the SOHC is slated for 2005, with retuned heads of course, hopefully it will be a step forward, else that DOHC 4.6L in mach 1 is a nice piece of machinery.

And camaro is dead. They should have redone it, if they fixed the fact it was archaic, the concept was a good one. Camaro had potential. GM was foolish to be rid of it.

well all together i would choose a trans am but all the listed cars could be weak 6 poppers. But my trans am is a 71 with a 455 big block sc but if its a cobra, trans am, and an ss id go pontiac, cobra,then camaro. But thats jus me ya know what i mean. tty all later

The most sense I made out of that, is that he has a '71 TransAm with a 455, all ponycars are capable of being weak cars when equipped with a 6-cylinder engine. And out of all of them, he would go Pontiac.

And about the Mustang's solid axle. Thats' not going anywhere. It keeps the price down, plus. I think a true " ponycar " should have a simple soild axle.
