It's big, it's heavy and it has alot of power. The perfect Cadillac! It's nice to see that Cadillac still has the 16 cylinder spirit after all making V16 Super sedans it's what got them their fame.

And although I have never been a fan of the designs Cadillac has been making I actually like this one. It's trendy and futuristic.

Ofcourse handeling doesn't come with the package and mileage is something we shouldn't talk about either. But it is a Cadillac and if you are a Cadillac buyer you shouldn't be concerned with things like that.

FYI: This car can get 20mpg by not firing cylinders. Kinda like turning the V16 into a V8, same way MB has been doing with their V12. Which was kinda a supprise for me. You wouldn't expect such things on a Caddy.

Okay so here's the 6 million dollar question. Veyron or Sixteen? I go for the Sixteen :)

it's just a concept, they never aimed to make it, it just shows their ideas, and lends them prestige. I think it's cool in that sense.

Aaaah it's a concept :( Oh well.

Anywayz, I don't know why but if Dodge or Ford every produced a car like this, I'd be like: "Look at the American piece of crap!", but if Cadillac does it, it's okay.

It's Cadillac, it's what they do. Even the name Cadillac has a certain ring to it. This car is kinda nostalgic, it combins the old Caddilac with new tech and in that sense, like fox said, it is kewl.

I wonder if they made a hot pink version of it, that would be the ultimate Caddy :D

I have drawn over pictures of the Sixteen before, changing things about the design that I thought could be improved upon. But overall it's a nice ride. It shows that Cadillac is not completely out of touch with their illustrious past.

As a big fan of old Cadillacs, more specifically 50s' and early to mid-60s', I would love to see Cadillac become " The Standard of the World " again, or at least a serious leader in the luxury market again. There was a time when people aspired to own a Cadillac someday, it was part of the American dream. GM has the ability to build something like the Sixteen if they had the nerve. The running " XV16 " engine is the only prototype ever produced, every part was tried and tested in the computer realm before it was ever built. They are wasting their rich heritage on crap no name cars ( literally ) that no one will ever remember.

I'm tired of models like " XLR, CTS, SRX, ESV, and EXT "

What happend to Grand names like " Eldorado Brougham, Fleetwood, Seville, Coupe Deville, and Biarritz? :oops:Thats' Cadillac!

Geschrieben

Actually, the engine can run like a V16, a V8, or a V4, depending on your driving style at that time.

And yes latenight, the El Dorado Brougham is one of the best cars to ever be built. It was the most luxurious car of the time ever. It was huge bucks too, I forget the exact number, but it was outrageous.

Geschrieben

The Eldorado Brougham of 1957-58 was about $7,000 I believe, which was huge bucks back then. In the glove compartment alone, they came equipped with Arpege purfume, a note pad, and a set of shotglasses. Yes, it was definitely a car of the time. It even had the earliest form of " memory seats ".

Cadillac back in the eighties had a thing called V-8-6-4, which enabled the car to run on either 8, 6, or 4 cylinders to save fuel. It wasn't very successful I don't think. But since they had that back then, I guess it isn't much of a stretch that they would have that feature on the Sixteen. That of all cars would really need it.

Geschrieben

the V-8-6-4 thing usually ran on none. Cylender deactivation isn't the best solution to the problem, but go figure. The problem is that the engine is huge, and will never get good mileage.

Geschrieben

the engine is actually just two next generation corvette engine slapped together. Cylinder deactivation is nothing new and is used in a ton of cars nowadays, look at the v12s from benz and bmw.

Geschrieben

Yeah but back in those days everybody wanted to be a millionaire. I remember the series called "The 6 million dollar man" these days you can't even buy a nose job for that money :)

Hmmmz Eldorado huh? Personally I would think that the De Vile would be a part of the American dream but the Eldorado makes more sense. I mean they were hand made and came with a load of stuff nobody ever thought of making in those days.

Through out history Cadillac has continued to shape the face of America, wether it's the American dream in those days or the Lowriders and Escalade SUV's of today.
