Why is this the first forum about this great car? This is an awesome ass exotic. It has enough d-force to hit the loops-de-loops

Sure it is a good looking car :D ! Anyone got any good pictures they can post?

Of course this isn't the first thread about Saleen, I count at least two specifically about Saleen cars. I have more to post on this topic, but a little later when I have the time. I assume you're refering to the S7.

Yeah, one of the only (if not the only) cars that has enough 1+ g's at high speeds. This means if there were a track built for it, and a driver crazy enough, you could get it to drive upside down. Thats pretty cool.

haha..if that was my car do you think i would be standing there like a goof in stupid clothing and a dumb grin on my face. lol

Yeah, thats' what I was thinking, not about the clothes, they aren't stupid. But why would a guy be standing next to it like hes' not allowed to get any closer if it were his :D ? An S7 that isn't yellow, what do ya know? Either TurboStang is really short, or that car is absurdly long, or both.

In my opinion, why would someone shell out $400,000 for a Saleen S7, when they could get the same sensations, and close to the same performance for about $240,000 less?? The alternative I am refering to is the Mosler MT900S. This car, and the S7 are a lot alike in terms of their appearance. They both use American V8 power, 428 Ford in the case of the Saleen, and an Corvette LS-6 V8 for the Mosler. They both provide the racecar on the road experience, and the finish and construction of the Mosler is sophsiticated enough to compete. In some performance catgories such as 0-60, 0-100-0, and number of ft. from 60-0, the 900S surpasses the S7. According to Motor Trend results, this is how similar the two are ...

* Saleen S7 .................. *Mosler MT900S

*Engine ............ 428.6 OHV V8 550hp - 525lb.ft. ....... 345.7 OHV V8 435hp - 400lb.ft.

*Curb weight ..... 2,750 lbs.......2,330 lbs.

*Weight dist ...... 40/60 .......... 39/61

*0-60 ................ 3.9 sec ......... 3.5

*1/4 mi. ............ 11.75 @ 126 .... 11.54 @ 122.91

*600 ft. slalom .... 65mph ........ 71.4

*Skidpad ............ 1.0g ............ .98g

*Price ................ $395,000 ....... $ 160,000

Dude, then get it. I am not being a dikk or anything, but if you like it soo much then get it. Everyone has difference taste. It is like saying why buy a McLaren F1 when you can just get a cobra and put a 351 SC motor clevland in it and smoke everything and still save yourself 999,000 dollars. It all comes down to the name and how much moola you got.

Can you afford one, i dont know, but if you obviously had the money and came down to the name, style, and the thought of owning the best amercian car made, iw ould. The Molser is a pure race car with street tires to make it legal.

Like i said, you can have your opinions and tastes, and it all comes down tohow much money you have.

Haha look at that trap speed, which means even though they passed the finish line the S7 would start to pull a littl emore. hehe.

Btw...the s7 is a 11.2 due to recent times, and the mosler is in the high 10.99 area. If they had a good driver drive the s7 they would be in the 10s as well. But no they get the fatest mother fukker to drive it.

I am not commanding you to go buy a 900S Stang, I don't even go for those kind of cars myself. I am just stating the similarity in their performance, and making note of the fact that one is over $200,000 cheaper. Just in case someone on here is in the market for a car like that and never heard of the Mosler.

The S7 is slightly ahead in most acceleration tests according to the stats I found, but only by a hair, and there is certainly not a $240,000 difference between the two. The similarities are uncanny. This isn't about a 351 Cobra, and a McLaren come on. The Mosler is a sales threat to the Saleen, because they are so alike. And when it comes to exotic cars, Saleen has no name either. Perhaps some would like that, unless all they want to do is floss.

HAHA..true

But only a sales threat to the racers. Have you seen the inside of a mosler, it has no ergonomics at all. Yet the saleen still has abundaties that the mosler doesnt. The only thing i am ashamed is that the S7 does NOT have ABS. that is what i dont get.

Ehh...it all comes down to what you want in the end for your money. I dont konw if saleen will be in business within the next 2 or 3 years, he is having problems, but well see!

saleen has been around, he'll stay around. Roush is doing amazingly well lately though.

Moseler is about being minimalistic, and it performs well as an effect. it does have a lot of shortcomings.

And saleen CHOSE not to put ABS, a lot of people (myself included) are not big fans of it for performance driving, for an icy parking lot perhaps, not for racy driving, it gets in the way, and adds a new variable to the predictability of the car.
