the best thing about the CL55 is definitley that power. However, the interior is the big dissappointment. It looks no defferent than a CL55, which is 80000k less. The interior needs to look more special. A car that is made to order should have a distinct interior that no other can touch. The exterior is in my opinion is the biggest dissappointment. If I saw the back of it, I'd think it was a 55 unless I looked carefully. They need to do something to it to give more flare. Why should such a powerful and expensive car loook like its "not all that"?

the only other cars with that sorta horsepower are more money.

All AMG's are hopped up performance and style wise. What could be a distinguishing feature between the 55 and the 65 anyways? CL AMG models are mean looking, and why do you say the interior is a dissapointment? It's very nice, or else it wouldn't have gone into a Mercedes.

If I remember correctly (it's been a loooong time), the caps were agreed upon, I'd say 15 or so years ago by Mercedes and BMW as an appeasement for environmentalist groups that began complaining about the emissions that cars produce running at those high rpms/speeds. Porsche never agreed to it so they have never had limiters on their cars. When AMG removes limiters, I've read that they only lift it to 300kph. It's understood that they will take it completely off, but noone at AMG will admit that and be prepared to pay to have it done. I can definitely understand keeping it hush-hush and it's never cheap to modify parameters within a computer. Especially not in a Mercedes.

I wonder... even though it puts more stress/wear on an engine to scream along at or near redline, it is also when engines are burning most efficiently. I wonder how emissions compare to lower speed (lower temperatures). Perhaps they're actually full of hooey. Anyone have any documented knowledge of comparisons?
