Well, a GTI is expected here- sporting a 2.8L VR6 DOHC 24V outputting 200hp. I have although heard rumors of a GTI-R coming here, powered by a 240hp VR6 (i am not quite sure what they are changing to attain that). The AWD system to be used is not the standard Steyr-Puch Quattro system found on A4, A6, A8, and Passat, it is the Haldex Quattro system used in TT (for transeverse engines).

The us will be getting the awd golf in the form of the R34. The R34 is a gti 2 door model. It will encorporate 4 motion and a 240bhp 24 v6. The msrp is 34k

The 240hp 3.2L will be impressive with the haldex awd. I don't think it will be as fast as some think although.
