ich denke ein neues Thema kann man für die Zukunft der Viper ruhig eröffnen.

Wie geht es jetzt weiter mit der VIPER ?

Ich hab gesagt bekommen das Jay Leno die Viper weiterführen wird.

Weiss da jemand mehr?

ischdarfnixsagen....aber drei Firmen waren bis vor kurzem in intensiven Verhandlungen mit Chrysler LLC über die Übernahme der Viper. Abwarten und Tee trinken!

hab jetzt ein wenig im inet gestöbert und hab gelesen das dass Viperwerk wieder arbeitet..

also kann man doch noch hoffen das es noch weitere viper´s geben wird von Chrysler

Neee.... das ist mit Verlaub "Kääääääse" . Die Viper wird weiterleben.

Dodge Viper SRT10 Will Live On

Auburn Hills, Mich., Jul 10, 2009 - Chrysler Group LLC announced today that production will continue for the legendary Dodge Viper SRT10.

Originally slated to cease production in December 2009, the Chrysler Group Conner Avenue Assembly Plant - the exclusive home of Dodge Viper production since 1995 - will continue to build the V-10 powered sports car. Chrysler Group is no longer pursuing a sale of the Viper business assets.

"The Dodge Viper has successfully captured the hearts and imagination of performance enthusiasts around the globe," said Mike Accavitti, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dodge Brand. "We're extremely proud that the ultimate American-built sports car with its world-class performance will live on as the iconic image leader for the Dodge brand."

Introduced as a concept car in 1989 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Dodge Viper was designed and engineered to test public reaction to the concept of a back-to-basics, high-performance, limited production sports car.

The reaction was so overwhelming that customer orders began to flow in even before the auto show was over. Chrysler Corporation immediately decided to determine the production feasibility on transforming the crowd-pleasing Dodge Viper show car into a limited-production sports car in no more than three years.

In May 1990, after months of intensive study and testing, Chrysler Corporation announced that the Dodge Viper, powered by an aluminum V-10 was a "go."

Dodge Viper production began in May 1992 at the New Mack Assembly Plant and was moved to Conner Avenue in October 1995. Viper V-10 engine production transferred from Mound Road Engine to Conner Avenue Assembly in May 2001. In 2008, Dodge introduced the all-new, fourth generation Dodge Viper SRT10. With more horsepower, more torque and more than 30 exterior and interior color combinations, the latest Viper gives enthusiasts the performance they expect on the track and off, with more factory customization options than before.

For 2009, the Dodge Viper SRT10 offers outrageous power, with an 8.4-liter, 600-horsepower (450 kW) V-10 engine contributing to blistering acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds, 0-100-0 mph in the low 12-second range), setting an American sports car benchmark.

To date, more than 25,000 Dodge Vipers have been built.

Sofern nicht genügend NEUE BESTELLUNGEN über die Händler für 2009 VIPER eingehen, kann es sein, dass die Produktion beendet wird. Keine 2010.

ALSO, falls jemand mit dem Gedanken spielt eine NEUE 2009 VIPER (Fahrmaschine pur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

mit 8.4 L Hubraum, V10 und 612 PS (450 kw) bestellen zu wollen, dann ran an den Speck! Sofort.

Traurige Naricht.

Damals war ich an einer Viper dran, aber leider gab es zu diesem Zeitpunkt kein Probeauto. MIr hätte ja auch gereicht wenn einer von Chrysler mit mir eine Runde gedreht hätte. Kann das verstehen das man das nicht gerne macht mit so einem brutalem Gerät, aber einfach mal so ein Gerät zukaufen ohne dieses Auto zu kennen ist auch sehr gefährlich.

So wurde es ein SRT 6.

ABer irg. darf auch ich eine Viper meins nennen8)

Noch gibt es ja einige Viper zu günstigen Preisen.

Das kann sich schnell ändern, wenn die Produktion endgültig eingestellt werden sollte.

On a similar note, Automotive News reported the following data:

Viper retail sales 1-1-2008 to 8-1-2008 = 682 vipers sold

Viper retail sales 1-1-2009 to 8-1-2009 = 329 vipers sold

And this is in spite of the incentives offered earlier in 2009.

The viper sales look even more dismal if one only looks at the July sales data:

July 2008 Viper sales = 88 vipers sold

July 2009 Viper sales = 20 vipers sold

Wenn Chrysler die Viper in Deutschland zum angemessenen Preis anbieten würde, wären hier auch die Verkaufszahlen höher.

Wenn man allerdings sieht, was sie in USA offiziell kostet und das mal in Euro umrechnet, kommt einem die Galle hoch, wie man hier ausgenommen wird (bei allen anderen Modellen genauso)

Redakteur des Handelsblatts bezieht sich - auf meine Rückfrage hin - auf einen Artikel des WSJ (Wall Street Journals). Dort steht KEIN WORT zur Dodge Viper und das FIAT diese nicht mehr bauen lassen will

At the Chrysler business plan meeting this morning, Ralph Gilles, CEO of the Dodge car brand, dropped big news on the Viper. After going back and forth for the past 18 months on what to do with Viper, Chrysler has decided that production of the current Viper will end in July 2010. Before that happens, 500 final cars will be built that, according to Gilles, will be the most special Vipers ever. Gilles explained that the company wanted to preserve the value of existing Vipers by not continuing the current generation indefinitely. He didn't give any details on what would be special with the final 500 cars.

...However, Viper fans need not mourn yet. Gilles revealed that an all new car is being developed with a launch targeted in 2012! Even better the Viper will be getting some help from Chrysler's new Italian colleagues... and lets not forget about a certain Fiat outpost that uses a yellow-and-black Prancing Horse for its logo that's based in Maranello. Let's just hope they keep the Viper's elemental nature in the new generation...
