Wie der Titel schon sagt, geht es in diesem Thread um diverse Umbauten beziehungsweise Einzelstücke mit Teilen von Ferrari oder aus einem Ferrari. Ich denke da an Fremdmarken die einen echten Ferrarimotor eingepflanzt bekamen oder auch Eigenumbauten auf Basis eines Ferrari.

Oder auch an solche Dinger hier...

Ferrari V12 Motorcycle ?

Ferrari enthusiast and former GP racer George has built two motorcycles based on Ferrari engines.

The V12 version is called "Andreas" while the V8 is known as "Dino".

The bikes are quite impressive with the timing gears on each of the four cams exposed.

With over 350HP I doubt the front wheel spends much time in contact with the pavement.

Its real and I firt saw this bike in 1991...so compare it to 1991 Ninja. Since then George (builder)built the Dino and the V-12. I think the Super charged Dino is his pinnacle bike

@ 350 blown hp and 550lbs. What you see is the vintage 1991 308 and yes I have followed only to be left as a faint BB in the mirror of this bike on a 600FZR.

BTW, George is a vintage GP racer, Isle Man racer to follow this 63 year man into a corner is to leave your bike scraping K-rail concrete barrier and go skidding down the asphalt in leathers.

One must hear it and see the cam belts turn turning to understand. 100% surplus aircraft aluminum.

I have the Dino blown v-6 and new V-12 under construction photos.

It takes George approximately 4 years to construct one of these. They are painstakingly built in barrowed garages with the only pre-fab parts being 60% of the original engine, forks and brakes. All the big car parts are removed, engine rotated transverse, oil pan removed, engine cut away from a CB1000 transmission, crank removed and counter weights cut away to slide and weld in transmission drive gear in, crank weights welded in and crank rebalanced, heads turned around and the engine runs in reverse, trips to the airspace guys to build adapter in aluminum to mate CB1000 trans to aluminum engine, all electronics, drive pullys and cam gears are custom lathed....etc to the point of lathing

bak-o-lite base for the distributor. Then a gig is build with the engine on the floor and slowly the frame ,tank, rear swing, cooling system and exhauts are all frabricated. This isn't some bumpkin putting a V-8 chevy in a 1200 pound frame; this is a real running bike that will do 200 mph in just a few seconds.

The shown older bike circa 1990 ( 700lbs, thats right 16 years old now) was built to the standards of time. The newer 1997 bike built with a Ferrari Dino V-6 is un-believable at 500lbs. Solid aluminum. I have a 749 Ducati and I'd trade 10 for this gleaming stainless aluminum booming v-8. The hear it and to see it. You could have an MV and people would just walk past it to see the silver shaking bike with cam wheels and belts turning. All the store front windows on a street are shaking as it comes to life and I know of two people who have crashed on sport bikes tring to follow this bike. It has such a straight away speed that those following even on an R-1 have to carry a higher speed in the corners to catch up.

BTW this guy does have an Isle of Man bronze trophy from the late 60's and many starts in 66-72' against the greats of GP racing and a GP place in 67'.

That picture just doesn't do it justice and the newer bikes have evolved to look and have modern frames but still be these wonderful unpainted polished aluminum indvidual pieces. The critics have boring store bought copies just like my tofu Yellow Ducati 749 Super bike aginst these amazing machines.

This guy lives in a 72' VW bus at the beach and travels all summer in Europe on an RS 100 with a tent and bags.

To meet George in his garage slowly filing away on a piece of aluminum and buy him a coffee is get the wisdom of the motorcycle Buda himself.

Maybe mike will post the photos I sent of the Dino v-6

and new V-12 under construction which show the incredible detail.

Can you imagine having a 350 hp Ferrari engine on your Yamaha 600 FZR ??

Can you imagine the roar of the engine when you rev it up ??

Only the sound of the turbine engine MT Y2K would sound better ! The motorcycle must be shaking when you open up the throttle!

The one and only Ferrari motorcycle will be among the star two-wheeled attractions at the 2006 International Historic Motorsport Show, which takes place at Stoneleigh, in the UK, from February 24 - 26.

The machine (top picture) was hand built by Kay Engineering over a five-year period - under a full Ferrari sanction - as a tribute to company founder Enzo Ferrari. The unique bike has a 900cc, four-cylinder, DOHC, air cooled engine and is also being offered for sale at the show... for a price of £250,000 - with no offers!

P.S.: Es gab wirklich "Ferrari-Motorcycles".....haben aber nix mit Enzo zu tun. Nur eine Namensgleichheit.

Toller Umbau

Erinnert mich an ein Boot von einem älteren Herrn der viele Rekorde aufgestellt hat. Er hat das einzige "Ferrari-Boot". Hat einen 430 Motor. Hab leider keinen Link dazu, aber das kennt hier sicher jemand!

Nöö, hat er nicht! - In irgendeiner uralten auto-motor-sport war mal ein kurzer Bericht über ein rotes Boot mit Motor von - glaube ich - Testarossa. Meine mich erinnern zu können, dass es auch diese typischen Testarossa-Rippen seitlich hatte.

Gibt sogar ein Flugzeug mit Ferrarimotor. Ich google mir schon´nen Wolf...

Sportboot Arno Ferrari

Der Motor wurde von Rinaldo Tinarelli -bekannt als "The Wizard"- vorbereitet, die Struktur des Rumpfes war aus Holzbalken, abgedeckt mit Schiffs-Furnierholz. Die Motorverkleidung und die Heckflosse, beide in Ferrari-rot und mit Ferrari-Kennzeichnung, wurden zu einem Symbol von Kraft und Aggressivität.

Anfang der 60er entschloß sich der bekannte Motoboot-Rennfahrer Nando DellOrto, in den 3-Punkt Rumpf - vorbereitet von der Werft Cantiere Timossi- einen 12-Zylinder Ferrari-Motor einzubauen. Der Rumpf war für Binnenrennen entwickelt worden (800kg Klasse).

Ferrari Engine + 1960 Rambler = Ferrambo

Divers Street Rods is building a very unique project to be debuted at Detroit 2008.

Using the drivetrain from a wrecked 2002 Ferrari F360, the talented team has swapped it into a 1960 Nash Rambler Wagon.

Divers Street Rods has stopped updating their progress page to leave some in some of the surprise at the final unveiling.

You can tell from the pictures they have released most of the car is custom and is using a very nice frame from Art Morrison.

Ferrari engined MGA

For a brief moment in history there was an MGA with a 2 liter Ferrari engine. The engine originated with the very last production four cylinder Ferrari s/n 0708 MDTR. In 1959 the engine was for a time transfered into a racing Lotus 15 named "Ferrotus".

Then it was transfered into the MGA for speed trials at Bonneville in the 1960's, after which the MGA languished in storage until 1988. The MGA was then sold to England (just to get the engine). Shortly thereafter the owner of the original Ferrari (then in Australia) arranged a creative engine swap deal to get the engine back to restore it into the original car. No information is known about the current status of that MGA, but the Ferrari is now back in the Unites States and is expected to be active in vintage racing.

Nissan Sunny mit Ferrari-Motor!

Neulich bei unserem Nissan-Händler um die Ecke: In der Werkstatt steht ein roter Schrotthaufen. Beim näheren Hinsehen fällt uns auf, dass es sich hier um einen Ferrari F355 handelt.

Hinten am Heck fehlen einige Teile, unter der Motorhaube ist auch kein V8 mehr zu finden. Zehn Meter neben dem roten Schrott stehen fünf Männer und werkeln an einem blauen Nissan Sunny.

Unglaublich! Die Jungs haben einfach die komplette Hinterachse samt 380 PS starkem Mittelmotor aus dem Ferrari geschnitten und in das Sunny-Heck eingepasst.

Noch ist der letzte Feinschliff nicht gemacht, aber tuningkultur.de bleibt an dem unglaublichen Japaner dran und wird von den ersten Testfahrten des Sunny F355 berichten!

... when that was deemed too weak it was replace with a 4.5-liter Ferrari engine.

Also der Pontiac Pegasus schaut doch ganz nett aus (ich meine jetzt mal nur die Form) - ein geiler 70-Style-Wagen!

Der Nissan... ich weiss nicht, ob der sich so gut fährt, das Auto ist normalerweise ein "Front-Triebler", d.h. vorne muss Gewicht rein, sonst geht's in den Kurven geradeaus!

Ausserdem: warum nehmen die nicht gleich ein "richtiges" Auto (wo nicht nur der Motor von Ferrari ist... )

F430 Motorboot: wollt Ihr mehr Fotos davon? Ich glaube ich habe noch ein paar weitere... auch von der 60 Jahr Feier in Maranello.

Hmm, auch wenn dieser Sunny-Umbau mit Sicherheit mit sehr, sehr viel Arbeit und Know-how verbunden ist: ich stelle diesen Umbau auf die gleiche Stufe wie eine Replika.
