The Spies have learned the official release date of the next generation BMW 3-series

It will be released in September 2004 in Europe as a 2005 model. It will make it's way to the US in January 2005.

As first reported in our August 23rd issue, here are the details we know so far about the next 3 series...

The next 3-series is a few years off (2005) but the spies are starting to hear details about the next iteration.

- A six-speed manual will be offered
- iDrive finally makes its way into the 3
- A new 'paddle-shift' SMG will be available
- Styling will be the most conservative of all the BMW's
- Performance of the next 330 (won't be a 330, most likely it will be a 350) will rival the current M3
- Convertible will have a retractable hardtop
- It will be less expensive and offer more standard features (due to competition from Infiniti, etc.)
- A diesel will finally make it to the US.

3,5 liter wären in verbindung mit einem r6 nicht machbar....
5,0 liter eventuell mit v8.... aber das wäre ein bisschen viel des guten....

3,5 gehen laut anderem Posting schon, nur der Effekt wäre gering.

Ich tippe auf Turbo oder Kompressor.

3,5 Turbo? 5.0? Quatsch...

320 = 2 Liter
330 = 3 Liter
350 = 3,5 Liter
Logo oder?

Warum sollte 3,5 nicht gehen oder wenig bringen?
(siehe Alpina B3 3,3 (ohne Turbo etc.)

Logisch finde ich es nicht, da Du Kommastelle woanders setzt!

Du hast recht. Hmmm aber 5 Liter... ??

Tja in spätestens 2 Jahren wissen wir mehr.

Aber wenn ich mir die Konkurrenz anschaue muß BMW einiges nachlegen!

320 = 2,0 Liter
325 = 2,5 Liter
330 = 3,0 Liter
....
350 = ????

demnach müsste IMO die Korrekte Bezeichung 335 für 3,5l sein ! Die Bezeichnung 350 würde dann tatsächlich für ~5,0 Liter stehen! Wenn man BMW´s Typenbezeichnung als beispiel heranführt und weiterverfolgt.

das 350 für Turbo stehn soll, kann ich mir net vorstellen. Ich kann mir ausser beim 7er (der RollsRoyce hat ja schon Turbo) nicht vorstellen, das ein Turbo in nen BMW kommt - seitens BMW.

Ob 3,5 Liter möglich sind, weiss ich net. Keine Ahnung, was Hr. Borgmann da aus dem Hut zaubert...

Aber wenn 3,5l dann wird er besser gehn als 3l! Denn sonst würde keiner ein solchen Motor bauen

Die Fahrleistungen des 330 (350) sollen auf Niveau des jetzigen M3 liegen.

Der nächste M3 bekommt ja einen V8 4,0l mit 400 PS!
