BMW is owned by the Quandt family, who want more than anything to keep BMW indapendant, and financially speaking, they have the power to do it.

Porsche using a VW engine is sin, porshe is not a car for the masses, that is why we have ford, chevy, and VW.

Did I miss something? The cayenne (I am guessing the S) is powered by a VW engine? Parts sharing has good virtues and bad virtues!

part sharing should go down, not up.

The cayanne S has a porsche 4.5L V8, the cayanne (V6) has the VW VR6 3.2L V6 making 240hp and well less torque.

the cayenne is a sad thing.

porsche is a sports car maker, not an SUV maker! all they are doing by making the cayenne is diluting the brand name (and making money, i guess)

the only good that could come of this is if porsche uses the profits from the cayenne wisely, like reviving their racing program and competing at le mans . . .

the racing isn't worth this. They can sell enough boxsters to keep up profitability, and they don't do to bad on 911. IF the porsche's still ran the company this wouldn't happen. It is sad.
