Default Photostory - my trip to Monaco and Maranello

Last month I had a round trip from Berlin to Cannes, Monaco, Maranello and the Lake Garda and back. Here is my report about that trip:

This is a YES clubsport, a very rare german sportscar. I've seen this car in Théoule-Sur-Mer, in the near of Cannes.

As an enthusiast of the BMW E36 I really enjoyed the look of the french headlights. The foglights of my E36 are yellow too, but yellow headlights would be something special in Germany.

Here are some pics, taken in an car-museum in Cannes. Some special cars like the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, a 512 TR, a 365 GTB4 Daytona, a 512 BB, a 250 SWB, a Countach, a Miura, and the 300 SL are only a few examples for the extensive collection of old race- and sportscars.

a damaged Countach...

In the forecourt of the building was a meeting of a ferrari club, what was leaded by a Porsche Carrera GT. I was very surprised about that and tokk the chance to see an Carrera GT in action. The loudest car was an F430.

The driver (a woman) showed, how to install the roof.

This is a Diablo VT in the near of Nizza.

Arriving in Monaco, this 956 was the first supercar I found. Some followed....

A 360 spider and a 430 spider in the front of the casino.

This is the startlane of the formula 1 racetrack. I was there a few days before the race.

Jaguar XJ 220 in action.

Entrance to the worlds most famous tunnel.

The collection of the prince of Monaco. Some cars are for a auction.

Ferrari 250 Europa Aluminium, 350.000 €

Porsche Carrera 6, 400.000 €

Porsche 908, 500.000 €

March Porsche 83 G, 168.000 €

Lamborghini Espada, 15.000 €. Bad condition.

Countach for kids

Ein Bentley from 1959 as Shooting Brake

Arriving Maranello we stopped in Fiorano. This is Michael Schumacher, testing for the Monaco GP.

In front of Galleria Ferrari I saw that nice 300 SL with US license plates.

In the Galleria Ferrari is that Ferrari Mythos, a Pininfarina Study from 1989 based on Testarossa. This one has no engine.

A Ferrari P6 from 1968

An Enzo, seen through a F50 Rearwing

The upper level with 288 GTO, F40, F50, 360 racecar and 550 racecar.

No comment, me and the F40, my absolut alltime favourite car.

Everyday life in Maranello.

507 Horses on the german autobahn

So I have done over 3.500 km in 6 days, but I regret none of them.

Sorry for my english!

Wow! You know, I didn't even know that there were real YESs. I thought they were vaporware. I've heard of them and seen pictures before, but not amateur ones.

I think the best car was the 300SL.

I wanna go to there, too

I had an internship for 6 months in that company and have a lot of amateur pics. There is a handful sold in Germany, the last one i saw on the Nürburgring / Nordschleife. Believe me, they are real!

Great photography Stefan! Thanks for telling us about your trip. Your English is fine. Tell me, why are the headlights yellow anyway?

This topic is of such great interest, I'm making it an Announcement.

I don't know why french headlights are yellow - but I like the look. Is there any technical advantage? I think not. But it looks different.
