Does anyone know anything about the M3 GTR V8 with the modified M5 5.0L engine, there are only 2 built by Prototype Technology Group in Virginia. It will be competing at the bathurst 24hr race on 22-23rd nov.

In 2002 they withdrew from the GT class races because they couldn't comply with the rules. First of which being that M3's with V8 blocks weren't concidered as production cars according to the new 2002 regulations.

Like you said, there probably were some prototypes around but BMW never entered those into the races.
