his 850 is like a 94 or 96. He destroyed his spendy little M70 V12 under the hood. The low oil light came on, he thought the computer was going nuts and kept going - only to find he had lost a bolt or two in his pan gasket.
If i were you, i'd cut the extras and get the CLK500. The AMG is a bit quicker, but not enough to justify the price difference. i didn't feel anything wrong when I rode in one, the way mercedes cars ride is pretty different from BMW, the whole feel of accelerating and cornering is just different in them. I like them both, the BMW feels sportier even when it isn't being driven hard, it just begs to be pushed, the mercedes is just a cool customer, always smooth and composed no matter what, it always feel calm. it's just taste. I like the CLK a lot, i just think you need better than the 2.6L V6 for that big of a sports coupe to really enjoy it best. Even the CLK320 would be a nice step up, but the CLK500 is just so nice
