Saw in the latest issue of German AMS a test with 5 of the fastest production cars. Test was done on the Nardo track in Italy. Test was done with GPS. So this is real speed.

Aston Martin Vanquish

Jep, great car, the Mercedes-Benz! I also read the article and I think that I´ll buy one next year, when I buy a NEW car... Or the new Alpina B12, but I´ll waite till february when the Maranello Evolutione is in production *hehe*...let´s wait and see!

Anyone heard if there will be a new E55 with same engine?. Bet the RS6 and M5 will get hard with it.

Now the time has come......tomorrow I´ll order my SL 55 AMG ! ! ! :grin: :grin: :grin: When that car is delivered in 2003, I´ll post some pics and sound-files here. I hope it´s in the 1st quarter of 2003.

Nice choice. Cant belive its time allready for a AMG seen like 2-3 SL500 R230 on the street.

BTW. I heard that you can order the car without speedlimiter but it will still have one around 300km/h. So you have to go to a aftermarket tuner to get rid of that.

Well, in March you can get the SL 55 AMG without ANY speedlimiter - then they have better tyres :grin: My SL has no limiter then... ca. 325km/h the car will run :cool: COOL.....

I can't see SL55 outrunning the lamborghini to 300kms. it seem weird?

Well, the Lambo has less torque than and the air drag is also not as good as the SL´s one (Lamborghini: cw 0,33
Mercedes: cw 0,29). And don´t forget that this is VERY important from 200-300 kph... :cool:

Like i wrote the SL55 uses a supercharger wich gives better torque on low rpm it also has automatic transmission and low CW. It has very a good front area. I also think the Lambo uses 330 tires back dont know what the SL use but its smaller.
