Rep Power: 5 | I've met several people off the internet but internet is still the internet. It's just a computer screen.

Rep Power: 5 | I know you aren't, did I say you were. I said the internet is the internet, we'll most likely never meet or ever talk on the phone or in person or anything. So why bother proving you have anything to anyone that you'll never see in real life??

Rep Power: 7 | its not a matter of proving. its a matter of honesty and credibility.
character matters just as much online as it does in real life. i understand what your saying, but it seems like the internet provides a way to mask insecurities through lies. so while i understand your argument for not having to prove something. that same argument is better applied to a rational as to why one should lie on the internet. just because its the internet, and nobody will ever see me anyway. its just a screen.
in attempts to bring this thread to a close. its not about proving anything as you have said a few times. i guess maybe as surface value, but again thats not the real issue. the important issue is credibility and security. to be brutally honest, in my mind you just have the eclipse. no skyline, no 800hp vr4. you seem a tad insecure with whole internet thing so you lied about it. and thats totally alright. i was sketchy about mentioning my age or that i only owned a civic... dont know why, but i definitely got over that as i continue to grow. anyway, i want to see you giving the thumbs up with a skyline, not proof. i want to see that you are a person with character and not some insecure weirdo on the internet that feels they must mention flashy whatever to gain credibility.
a little too touchy feely? yea im tired, im not even going to proof read it... probably shouldve been left to pm...

Rep Power: 5 | Well you know I've told you on AIM that I could careless if anybody believes me of what I have. I don't mind people thinking I'm lying, that's fine by me. I can't change their opinions and I don't need too. People are allowed to have their opinions and I'm not going to try to do anything to change that. I know what I have and I know what I don't have, that's the only thing that matters to me.
Proving to somebody on the internet that I have "character" or "credibility" is merely one's take on how they act on the internet. I'm not "hiding" anything, I'm not "insecure" and I don't have a reason to lie to people on the internet to gain "credibility". As I've said, I could careless about credibility on the internet so lying in order to gain credibility would completely contradict that statement.
I'm not here to showcase my cars, I'm not here to gain peoples approval of the cars I own. I'm here solely to talk about cars just like everybody else. I can careless about anything else. If I wanted to showcase my cars I'd just go somewhere like www.cardomain.com and post up pics of all my cars just so people could respond back by "wow I'm jealous" or "wow awesome car garage you're so lucky". That's not my objective on the internet and never will be.
So in my closing I say to you, believe what you want. If you believe I have the cars I do (which are really nothing spectacular compared to some of the supercar owners here) then that's fine, if you don't believe I do own them then that's fine as well. The choice is yours, I'm not going to try to make you believe one way or another.

Rep Power: 9 | Credibility on the internet ( such as a forum ) isn't going to make or break anyone's life, but it matters in that it effects how we are percieved by others and directly relates to the quality of discussion. It's the criterion by which mods are made partly, and Carpassion wouldn't be nearly as good if everyone were flat out lying, and nobody would come here for honest advice.
All that being said, this debate really boils down to weather someone has or hasn't got a particular car, so it's really small stuff. I think everyone has made their point, and the topic at hand flew out the window a while back, so I hope nobody minds if I lock this.
