Though my stand point is anything under 3000lbs. and made in Asia has no handling. I have good reason for this.

If the car doesn't give you any feeling at all then it's pretty useless as a supercar.
hey i can do 130mph and it feels slow,

You are so damn right.

hey charlie, are you refering to a 2800lb. Japanese car, not having handling or are you just calling my car slow?

wait, wait. i just have to clarify. are you guys saying that a car that weighs more handles better? your really going to have to spell that one out.

and how did minivans jump into this? yea, those things are worked, so what? thats like saying a drag car is faster than these, no crap. can we please have one post that stays on topic. please.

generally when a car weighs less than 3000lbs., it needs more of a suspension set up to keep it from swaying off the road, the car generally needs to be lower to the ground than a heavier car. Spring rates, physics, harmonics, speed, (even air density) and weight all come into play with this.

As an example, remeber when I said I can take a hard turn at high speed and hold it. (my car has 3300-3700 curb weight), Now remeber how i said that the suspension dropped completely, and the passenger side may have come up off the ground.....

Now try that with that car i just wrecked , it weighs in around 2800lbs. Has actually a better suspension, but doesn't. Some times it is better when a cars springs aren't very stiff, but its stability is to some extent. its hard to explain because i dont have a full working knowledge of suspensions, but i know enough to know i like heavier cars.

oh to back up the weight differences and suspensions on cars, try the f1 cars that a 1/2" from the ground

you totally lost me. i can understand that a car will ride smoother when there is more weight with an identical suspension setup, thats easy physics: a = f/m

at least you can admit to not knowing that you dont have a complete knowledge of the subject. the car you crashed was obviously not able to handle the driving you put it to. or you were not able to handle the kind of driving this car is accustomed to.

so to further articulate your argument in the most logical sense. if your car weighed 500lbs less, it would handle worse. its not fair to compare one car to another, as i have never been a fan of hyundais and do not favor their handling characteristics.

Default s2000

i was browsing the internet when i saw this, i was totally baffled that someone would actually dog the s2000 so much. If you never owned it you wouldnt know the power of the S. I have an 02 s2000 yes it has no low end torque but its the 9k red that prodcues power this enables the back tires not to want to spin in cornering, plus 50/50 weight balance. This coming for a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter. Now charlie i know your biased since you have a Z. To be honest yea they are great cars, and will bark up to third. My friend has his white 05 z which that year semmed to fix alot of the problems and he loves it. There was alot of competition between us and arguing like this...so we took it to the track. as far as quarter mile racing it is never a straight call, out of about 10 launches it was 50/50, depending on the start. In cornering the philosphy about weight is #$%$ he will tell you that since he popped a curb trying to manipulate turn in the Z like i was. Now as we got onto from 40 up the s2000 pulls ahead in our tests, now i had the top down so i had more drag, but once we got up to about 110 he came back up on me, so in the end the Z will outperfrom on top end. But charlie you racing tracks know that quarter miles in those car ranges end about 100-105 so top end is useless. Now please dont argue with me as you will...because you own a Z. But any road course will tell you the S will out handle the Z. As far as prefrence the S is alot more compact then the Z, as it is more of a comfortable sports car, especially since it shares the G35 chassis and they turned that into having....a back seat!! Both cars are great, before you get all technical Charlie, please man dont make the owners of the Z look jealous Peace

now that i think about it, my biggest criticism of the s2000 is the unavailability of a hardtop. if i could get a hard top i think it would be my next car... but that wouldnt be for 7-9 years anyway. i love hondas

Well I got good news for you. You can get it but obviusly after market. I saw one once here in South Fl , was yellow with a beatyfull hard top. It can be done. Now probably that guys payed his ass out for that little detail I think they sell the hard top separated and you have to take it to a shop to get installed.

Nice I would have loved to see that. Now I firmly believe that the S2000 is at some extent the best competition in Japanese cars that the Z can have right now , and for that my friend if you own an S I will chake your hand for having a good car. As I said before is about taste I like Japanese muscle cars like the Z, that is why I chose it, but still will respect the S 2000 knowing that if you know how to drive (really driving) you could kick my ass for a little bit. Anyway both are great cars worth of discussion. Peace
