the reason we don't have a toyota forum is interest. The entire japanese supercar forum is only 1/4 the size of the BMW forum.

there are other cheap cars equal (or possibly better) to celica, it's a good car, it's just not alone in being a performance bargain.

Finally, someone who thinks highly of the Celica like I do . It's a great little car, very racy in architecture, if nothing else.

But just by looking at the size of the german car forums, you can see that this site is focused primarily on European cars. " Japanese Supercars ", " American Supercars ", and " Others " pretty much covers everything else fairly adequately.

What's so great bout the new celica? Besides it bein under $25k fully loaded.
How bout the '04 Toyota Celica GT-S 6-spd does the average driver 1/4 mile in 15@ 93.5mph
Their has been recorded guys making stock celica gt-s run 14.02@ 101.5mph jus by learnin the way the car works and thinks.
Also a skidpad of 0.81g @200ft.
That's decent for a FF car

U don't see hardly at all any low-cost imports/domestics that deliver that kinda result without FI.

i wouldnt mention the 15@ 93.5 and .81g on the skidpad sucks im hoping thats a typo. if you really want fox's opinion bring up the torque curve of the gts.

Considering the average driver doesn't know jack squat bout how 2 race, no, its not "sucky".
For a lil 4 cylinder natural aspirated and not even over 200hp and u can reach a time of 14 seconds?
That doesn't "suck" as far as i'm concerned. And so wat it doesn't have
a big torque curve that slams u in the back of ur seat its still a fast ass NA 4cylinder.
My eclipse (stock) nor the v-6 eclipse or ur slow civic or si could beat this car.
U may not get the same rush or be as fun as driving a subaru wrx, talon tsi or mitsubishi eclipse gsx.
It's still faster than ne 4 cylinder out 2day in low-marketing sales bein NA.
All-in-all its not a bad car at all.

did i even mention this on a personal level? who cares what times the average person can post? .81 on a skid pad does suck, but a 14.0 in the quarter mile is pretty good.

i think celicas are alright you misunderstood me, again.

you didnt understand what i meant by the torque curve. i didnt mean its size, i ment the spike as soon as it hits lift. you probably have never even seen the torque curve of the gts, if you did you wouldnt have made the wrong assumption.

"low marketing sales being na"? i get what you mean but dont try to use bigger words to sound smart. use bigger words to better express your thoughts more efficiently.

Celica? Try .89g. RSX Type-S is more like .87. The Celica GT-S is an awsome car, it's a high strung athlete. The visibility, grip, handling, the whole experiance is excellent. It's over 250lbs. lighter than a Type-S, has a tighter turning radius, and beats it in the slalom. In fact, in a Popular Mechanics test of 12 compact sporty cars, the GT-S came second only to the Mitsubishi Evo in the slalom!
If you can appreciate a high revving handling machine, with the soul of a jet fighter, you should be able to appreciate the Celica.

Celica GT-S Rocks! :P
