Mercedes vs. Bmw?

If anyone can give me a meaningful list of why Mercedes Benz consistently produces cars with a lesser quality than BMW, or any other brand for that matter, that would be wonderful. If not, prove me wrong. So far, it seems to me that Mercedes quality is dropping steadily and that prestige is the majority of whats holding up the car.

mercedes build quality used to be second to none.

Then they started building cars in alabama. That was a mistake.

With a few exceptions, mercedes cars are very very good still, although their engineering is pretty unique in germany (in some ways sorta primative) - they do fill their market niche. BMW has a lot of issues with computers in their vehicles, and statistically, their quality is not much better than mercedes, and nowhere near audi. BMW engineering although is amazing.

siriously i think u guys must be sleeping or sumthing...! i'm a fully fledged beema fan but siriously speaking... have you heard of the 1-100 in 5 A class AMG, the CL63 AMG or the Merc king SL55 AMG, have you guys checked out the specs for the next SLK and compared them to the Z4...

I think instead of complaining bout Mercs we should be protesting to Beema siriously...

For the most part Mercedes-Benz cars are becoming more and more powerful while BMW's cars are becoming more economically-efficient. Who's gonna win? Well, since they're both in the German HorsePower War at the moment, they're both gonna win. But once the Germans are no longer going nuts, and the dust has settled, BMW will walk away slightly stronger than BMW because their cars are overall more practical in the range of models and their functionality and stuff. and besides, you mgiht be able to afford a 3-Series, but would you really be able to afford a C-Coupe or something like that?

And either way, as far as "quality goes", there's no clear winner. They're both high-quality auto manufacturers to the point of severe arrogance.
