Rep Power: 0 | Jaguar vehicles Jaguars have been known to be very elegant and stylish vehicles for some time now, but some of my friends describe them as "old people" cars. I'd like to know your opinion about these cars. Do you think they are old people cars or is that just a stigma that's hard to get rid of ??? The current Jag slogan is "born to perform" so I guess it means it's ok for younger drivers. |

Rep Power: 6 | well i used to work for jaguar for a little over a year transporting cars.i have driven every jaguar there is.i realy dont think there the best cars around though.i used to have to jumpstart almost every car before i could leave.espasialy in the winter.those cars arent good in cold at all.i agree that xj and maybe even s type could be called old people cars.but not x and xk.the only jags i realy enjoyed driving were the supercharged ones.xkr is my fav and part of the reason i got fired.still compared to the other dealers i worked for id have to say jag was the least exiting.but the intiriors are pretty nice though.i love the smell of a brand knew vanden plas. |

Rep Power: 7 | The thing is that Jaguar isn't really known for the little extra you get with it. Mercedes is (or rather was) known for their eye for detail, BMW is known for their great enginering skills, what is Jaguar known for? Exactly, really expensive, not really that fast and (except from the leather interior) no extra gadgets and stuff. The only thing Jaguar is known for is their sturdy cars and engines, they are really build to last and won't break that easily.
The market for a Jaguar isn't really that big. So if you buy a new Jag then you'll see that it's value will drop very quickly, making the purchase unappealing. |

Rep Power: 11 | I would kindly like to point something out.
Compare the 4 All Wheel Drive european sport compacts.
Jaguar X-Type 3.0
Audi A4 Quattro 3.0
Mercedes C320 4Matic
BMW 330xi
The jaguar is the fastest to 60 in both manual and automatic trims. Dollar for dollar, i don't think you can get more than an XJR, the interior has the finest woods available, and they have connolly leather. That isn't just a brand name, I challenge you to get in jaguar and feel the seat. They are stupidly soft. They drive very solidly, and in the past 5 years have brought their reliability rating to be ON PAR with Mercedes and Audi. They handle amazingly well, and have amazing class, an X Class holds more presence in person than nearly any other car in the segment. It looks bigger than it is, it feels like a minature XJR, it has seductive curves,
They have character.

Rep Power: 9 | Any young person who would pass off an XJR as a " old person " car has to be blind and obviously can't appreciate the finer things in life. That car has hustle and class.
Put an XJR and a slammed Civic next to each other and I dare you're friends to pick the Civic to be seen in on Saturday night.

Rep Power: 11 | damn right! XJR does 0-60 in 5.0 secconds, hustles through the corners, and is damn sexy. You let me tune up my XJR, you play with your civic, see who wins. better yet, I have the softest seats available, the finest of everything around me, my engine is subtle and refined in its yell, best of all, the XJR looks nice whether you park it at mcdonalds or the finest resteraunt. See what happens when you pull the rice-mobile up to the valet at your favorite 5 star. Thought so.

Rep Power: 0 | Just curious, is the engine in the XJR the same as the one used in the S Type R ??? I'm seriously thinking about getting an S Type R. This car would look really nice next to my 97 Maxima. |

Rep Power: 11 | they both use the same 4.2L DOHC 32V Supercharged and Intercooled V8 putting out 390hp. The larger XJR is although lighter than the S Type R (the XJR is all aluminum) and is such faster.

Rep Power: 6 | If someone offered me the keys to a Jag - any Jag, or a BMW, Merc, Audi etc. I'd take the Jag any day. Everyone says they are for old people, but if that's true they'll be the one having the last laugh while being cosseted at 150 m.p.h, passing the endless rows of common German box-structures with perfect ease. |

You sure you wouldn't rather have an Aston?
