I just ran across this post, and, sorry, don't mean to offend you, but what a crazy question! Who doesn't like Lotus?! I didn't "die" seeing an Elise, but it's a looker I'll give you that.
And how did you make your sig.? What did you write?
The Elise is a great little car. It has all the tools minus an extremely powerful engine. But, when a car looks this cool and keeps things simple.... Who needs to go 180? They need this little car in the US
they aren't much for build quality, their engines are more or less glorified rover engines, but the handling is truly unreproachable. If ever a car rode on rails, it was a lotus.

I've always liked Lotus. But 156HP seems too little, especially for a car with such sharp teeth. Then again I guess I'm too obsessed with raw power, and can't judge it by the fun-factor. Of course I'd stil buy one. Once (or if) it makes it to the US, then maybe it'll make it to Canada too.
The next generation Elise will be available in the U.S soon, using a Toyota engine in favour of the dumped K-series unit. With the Elise, the figure you want to look at is B.H.P per tonne, not just B.H.P. It might seem low, but you have to bear in mind that feathers weigh about as much as the Elise does. I'd be very surprised if you ever get close to its handling limit, only the really brave (or stupid) drivers with talent can mangage that.
