it depends what kind of racing you are doing. if it is head to head then obviously it will affect the race. you cross first, you win. if you are racing for ET then it has no effect whatsoever. you can sit at the light for 20 seconds and still run a 12 second ET.

the only time reaction time affects anything is when you race head to head, and even then it isnt added to your ET.

Hey, no feuding within the family!

Drag racing isn't really my thing, so I'm just observing this one.

It's all in fun. Most people are curious as to what's in the car and want to talk.

I was wondering if any of you could explain to me some of the different techniques in getting off the line the quickest with the most traction?

my advice to you would be to buy an Audi

cant beat quattro for getting off the line with the most traction. however when you get to my power levels you still manage to spin all 4 tires, so it takes some skill to get the revs and clutch right.

Find your peak torque on the tach, drop the clutch and hope you find some traction.

You may get some wheel spin, but at least you'll know your engine is putting the right kind of power down. Many people just mindlessly redline their motors before launch.
