Default My M3 won't burnout.

I jsut got a 1996 M3 and I've tried burning out but it just won't. I put it in 1st and rev the engine. I then take the foot off 1st and it doesn't do shit.

Any advice?

Um, you think maybe your traction control is engaged and you don't know it? Look for a button on your console labeled "ASC" and press it.

After you do this, you should be able to burnout to your hearts content.

Should I turn it on or off?

Turn it off.

Well, it's off. I'm thinking maybe it won't burn out because I just got new tires?

No, you could still burn out with new tires. If it's not the traction control, than who knows what's up, because it sounds like you're launching it right. The car performs fine in every other way, full power?

The car is great. It's a 1996, but only had 2 owners. All that happens is the car will rev up, launch foward quickly, but doesn't burnout. Should I redline the car before I let go of the clutch?

Yes, redline it, let it hit the limiter as the six builds up a full head of steam, and drop the clutch. Keep your foot on the break, as you let up on the clutch. Three pedals to work, and only two feet, but you can do it.

Release the break, and off you go in a cloud of smoke.

So I should keep my foot on the accelerator the whole time?

Yes, to the floor. Apply your handbrake before you do this, try that.
