Ahhh, if only "pure stock" was really as good as it sounds. But a lot of the time it just means the old OEM stuff is out of tune or ready to bust. Glad you got it all fixed - Hope it didn't make you too broke.

Save the 350 for something else, like a sleeper Caprice.

you said you cleaned the Bosch +4 plugs? you cannot clean platinum plugs without damaging them. I'd try new plugs. How are your wires? Are your injectors clean? Is the timing right?

i cleaned the plugs with a cloth soaked in gas and i didn't apply any pressure, just wrapped the plug and pulled it out, Wires are original and are starting to arc im gonna pick up some Race wire later, the ignition timing was off by a whole gear tooth. Injectors are fine. All of it is being cleaned up Saturday morning,

Glad you got her going right again. Looks good.

The engine bay is almost spotless. A lot of the parts look new, and the intake manifold looks dressed up.

yeah all the parts with the exception of the alternator, and tuneup items are 20 years old, the engine was never dressed though i did hand polish the runners, upper manifold and all other shiny aluminum. I painted the exhaust manifold back to stock but the high heat paint and the cast iron stain didn't hold up too well. As far as the polishing went imagine a bottle of Mother's Billet Polish and about 50 terry cloths. I have to do some fine tuning hence why the distributor is exposed. But she idles at 1200-1500 rpms and can take hairpin turns @ 95-105mph+. So far I have taken it up to 125mph, with a poorly tuned engine and old goodyear Gt+4 tires and she handles like a dream. I'd put her up against almost any Japanese Car on the street assuming the take off was around 90mph. It is funny because most older Vettes unless they are big blocks wont even run a track with me. I dont know whether its because they have less to equal power with me or because of the reputation the 1982-92 Camaro has built for being a TBI 305 with 2.73's and a 700R4 which equals high 16's on the 1/4.

Sorry about the rant I am bored.

Funny, because the alternator is one of the things that look brand spanking new. You used to complain that the 305 didn't pack enough punch, but you seem very proud of the car's performance now. What happened?

Never mind ranting, it's good to see somebody talking here.
